Ingredients: Sugar, Corn Starch, Maltodextrin, Citric Acid, Natural Flavor (Contains Key Lime Oil), Salt, Color (Yellow 5, Blue 1).
Instructions: Instructions:Needed: 2 egg yolks*.1/3 cup cold water.2 cups very hot water.1 tbsp butterOne 9 inch prepared pie shell.In a 2-quart sauce pan, combine 2 slightly beaten egg yolks, 1/3 cup cold water and contents of pie filling mix packet.Stir in 2 cups very hot (not boiling) water and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. When bubbles first break the surface and filling thickens, about 5-7 minutes, continue cooking for 30 seconds. Remove from heat. Do not overcook.Stir in 1 tbsp butter. Cool 5 minutes, stirring twice. Pour into a prepared, cool 9 inch pie shell. Refrigerate pie up to 3 hours or until firm. Store leftovers in the refrigerator.Yields One 9 inch pie (8 servings).*Reserve egg whites for meringue, if desired.Meringue topping instructions:1. Preheat oven to 350degrees F.2. Beat 2 room temperature egg whites in a clean metal bowl at medium speed with a wire whip attachment until soft peaks form.3. Slowly beat in 1/3 cup sugar, and continue beating until stiff peaks form.4. Top filling in pie shell with meringue, sealing to the edge of the pie crust.** Bake at 350 degrees F for 12 minutes or until golden brown.5. Cool pie before serving.**For best results use pastry crust - prepared graham crust may not hold together after baking meringue.
