Just what I was looking for

I was amazed at how hard it was to find an alarm clock that offered a large display that was not too bright to sleep near and more than a buzz or radio to wake up to that would start softly and increased in volume. It was easy to find 2 or three of my requirement, but not all of them. I had hoped for a more inexpensive model, but was happy to find one at all! It has so far met all my requirements although the increase in alarm volume is very, very slow. I just set it to start at a higher volume and it seems ok. It was pretty easy to set up - I only use one alarm, but 2 would be easy-ish, too. I have not yet used the time projection, but it seems like it could be useful at some point. Looks nice and is easy to read.
    Hi Jazzerciser,
Good to know that you are happy with your purchase!
Thank you for choosing Sony!
>Joffrey

    Biggest piece of junk ever

After 5 months the radio abruptly stopped working when I was listening to it and entire display went black. Tried other outlets to verify it was the clock radio vs. the outlet. Sent back to the address on the Sony Limited Warranty and Sony refused to accept it! So...$10.06 to send to Sony, $10.06 to retrieve from the Post Office. Why did they refuse to accept it? Because I hadn't PHONED them first! No where in the warranty is this specified. I'm so *done* with Sony...

Difficult to set, not user friendly

This clock is so irritating! The buttons are hard to see, and there are so many steps to set the alarm. For example, you have to press the snooze/sleep button to advance between the hours and minutes, but then again for the volume, radio or buzzer choice, etc. By the time you have to do it again, you've got to dig out the instructions. Then, there is no way to turn off the radio once you've gotten up without doing a bunch of odd steps, and even THAT is mysterious.
Hello TucsonT, thank you for your message. SONY takes into consdieration all good or bad feedback to improve the performance and quality of our products. Oscar.

    Far better than I imagined!

I've had this clock for a few months and I couldn't be happier with it! The main features I wanted were nature sounds and two alarms. But nature sounds were hard to find so I paid more for the time projection on the ceiling even tho I didn't really want it. But I was wrong -- the time projection is fantastic! No more twisting to see the clock on the night table. Just look up and there's the time in red. You can even focus it so it's clear. But it doesn't keep you awake. Also, I think the alarm is really easy to set. And once set, I don't have to touch it since I've set it to go off at the same time on weekdays but not on weekends! I like the nature sounds, too -- we use the babbling brook sound. I thought maybe I was spending too much but this clock has been well worth it! I highly recommend it!

WOW! No more straining to see the time

I received this as a late Father's Day gift on 06/20/18. It was worth the delay. The time display is very clear and does adjust to that just right brightness so as not to blind you at night. The AM/FM radio is very clear for a mono sound. Even has a number of nature sounds to wake up or go sleep too. Radio/Clock has a battery backup using the CR2032 lithium battery. You can even charge your smartphone up by using your USB to cellphone cable. Initial setup was easy, but it takes a few try's to get it right. You will not regret buying this FM/AM Clock Radio or even better if you get it as a gift as I did.

    Are they kidding?

The 50 year old transistor radio tuner is absolute insanity on a 2018 radio. my 15 yr old Sony radio had a digital tuner. You need 3 hands to change the station, 1 to hold a magnifying glass, 1 to hold a flashlight, 1 to turn the tiny knurled wheel. The station you are listening to, does not correspond to the station indicated on the tuner(example- I listen to am890, but the tuner indicates am1100) The clock was always 2 minutes fast, but in 5 weeks the hours started readjusting themselves, keeping the incorrect time, no matter how many times it was corrected, then adjustments simply stopped working. I am a lifelong Sony customer, many times selecting products simply by brand name alone, The build quality on this radio is very alarming, and has forced me to reevaluate my trust in Sony quality, something that is very important to me.

Great Features - but unreliable, dies in months

I was really happy with this. Accepted, setting it up initially can be head scratching ... there's lots of buttons. But the built in sounds to help ypu off to sleep are great (rain/birds/waves crashing/water running). I love the beam function that projects time onto the ceiling. I love the 3 brightness settings. I love the USB port on the side for charging mobile phone (great for guest bedroom). Setting the alarms is tricky but once you get the hang of it its fine. What I don't like is it reliability. I bought it 4 jan 17. On 10 dec I went to set it and it stopped working- no display, nothing at all. I googled it etc & find that Im not the only one. It seems this is a known problem. So in summary, a great well thought out product BUT it just seems its poorly fabricated ... maybe faulty wiring/solder on the pcb etc. So its going back and I regret I must buy something that works!

    Good Features

I like all the features but it is very complex to setup. Takes time and patience. I lilke the looks and size.

Great clock except the 16 hr projection

Love the clock in every way and projection is the best on the market. BUT - it turns off after 16 hours. This is a real user design flaw. SONY - I've seen many reviews with the same complaint and limited response. WHY is this? Why do other clocks stay on but your defaults to turning off? Is there a fix? I need more for my house - other clocks have poor projection and hesitant to buy another one of these because of the 16 hour 'flaw'.

    Easy to use!

We purchased this for the projection of the time on the wall or ceiling. It works very well and is handy to see the time in the middle of the night without the need for glasses. We are both in out mid 60ies and a bit "tech challenged". This product is very easy to use.
