I couldn't be happier with my purchase if this 77 inch Sony OLED. It's unquestionably the greatest video processing machine in the world. Having come over from my 3.5 year old LG OLED the experience of this Tv leaves me breathless. It's simply stunning. The rendering of 4K in Dolby Vision is beyond stunning. And I must say I am very impressed with the degree of support I've received the few times I've needed to call Sony support. My only criticism relates to the remote, that, while substantial enough , should, at this price point be backlit. Otherwise, this latest from Sony is worth every bit of its premium price. I highly recommend this Tv.

Best TV out there
I have been thinking about, and saving my money for years, to buy the best TV from the best TV manufacturer. And the XBR-77A9G fills the bill for me. The picture is stunning, even when just out of the box and switched on. Colors are great and the images are as sharp as can be -- quite lifelike. Sure, there are a few, much more expensive TVs available and new ones (8k) will come on the scene, but the picture from this Sony will last me for many, many years.
The belt-in speakers are great, enabling me to get rid of a clumsy surround sound setup with my old Sony. The 77-inch size is great as well; the image fills the room, like in a movie theater.
I have always admired Sony products. Now that Pioneer has faded away, Sony makes the best TV screens available. This model is a keeper!
Great picture quality!
Excellent picture quality and features. I am glad I picked this model, expensive but the quality is great.
Great Overall Television
I bought this television about a month ago and so far I have had zero issues with it. Great picture and love the features. It replaced my plasma VT60 and I would say was a great replacement/upgrade. Definitely a step above what it replaced.
I do not use the internal speakers, hence why I rated them as average. I guess I should have not rated them, but I am unable to change the rating back to no rating.
My only complaint so far is in regards to the owners manual (Ease of Use rating). It is not really an owners manual, in my opinion, but a basic setup guide. The online help function is also very lacking. I have many questions about the television features/settings and there is little to nothing explaining them in the manual or in the online help features. The television has so many features/settings, and no place to locate the information on what they do or how the settings affect the picture/television. As an owner, I should not have to find other advanced owners/online to explain the features/settings to me AND hope they are correct with their responses.
Other than that, I love the television! Now for the test of time.
I have never spent so much on a TV but I am glad I did. When the time came I wanted a TV second to none and that is exactly what I got with my 77" Sony Master Series. This TV is sync'd with my Phillips Hue lights for ambient color changes and to my Google Home for voice activation. If you can afford it, do it!
I've owned many Sony products in the past including their professional monitors for video editing, so I had high expectations for the A9G as well - It did not disappoint. Right out of the box the picture was excellent, and after a few adjustments it was even better. Black levels are outstanding and the lack of extra glow around white lettering on black backgrounds makes for a more enjoyable visual experience. Sound from the internal speakers is also the best I've experienced in any TV (including other Sony's). So far I am very pleased with this TV, and although a little pricy, would recommend it to anyone seeking best color, detail and overall picture quality currently available in a non professional product. One minor complaint - no lighted buttons on the remote make it difficult to navigate in a dark room.
A must have beautiful picture. Took off one star for two reason doesn't tell you your watching HDR or Dolby Vision you have to dig into the settings to find out its on and the lack of an HDMI 2.1 for a TV this price it should be displayed under the information tab and the lack of HDMI 2.1 meaning this TV is already outdated when the PS5 comes out. Over then that it serves as the centerpiece of my home theater and well worth the money.

Simply Great !
This TV looks great but I haven't really had a lot of time to explore a lot of his features. If you have a really fast Internet connection it speeds up to 4K really quickly on your streaming devices. I have cable with charter communications spectrum. It's a bit slow and doesn't take advantage of 4K yet so I'm really looking forward to that whenever they decide to upgrade to 4K. However overall the contrasts the deep blacks and surprisingly the sound is really nice.
Overall I'm impressed for the price which is quite expensive but worthwhile. I always prefer to have a 10 rather than two fives. And the TV is definitely attend. I look forward to explore it more when I have more time and highly recommend it.
Love Picture and Sound - Firmware - not so much
Sadly we had to return our Master series Sony TV. It was just too frustrating to try to use. After the firmware upgrade, the system kept locking up and we had to do several hard restarts. This was even after a full factory reset. We waited over a year to purchase the TV until the Apple firmware update was available. The Sony proprietary software limits capability too. The sound and picture however - when it's working, cannot be matched.
