We bought the 75" 950G roughly a month ago and have been blown away by the quality of the picture, sound, and interface. It also looks great in our living room mounted on a BDI media center with integrated TV stand.

Enhanced brightness, incredible contrast
Sony’s Full-Array Local Dimming and Boosting technology dynamically changes the light levels in sections of the screen depending on the content, resulting in a dramatic increase in contrast and brightness. Add in X-tended Dynamic Range PRO 6x which gives the screen 6 times the contrast range of a conventional LED-edge lit TV. By accurately balancing the light output across the screen, darker scenes get darker and brighter scenes get brighter.
Intelligent processing, ultimate realism
Simply put, our proprietary 4K HDR Picture Processor X1 Ultimate is our best processor, ever. Object-based rendering happens in real time at lightning speed to remaster and upscale everything you see to near-4K HDR quality. Everything on the screen is identified, analyzed and optimized individually to adjust the overall contrast, sharpness and color for a picture that looks nearly identical to the real thing.
Experience a more natural picture
Every object, accurately displayed. With Object-Based Super Resolution in combination with 4K X-Reality PRO, you’ll see lifelike detail, textures, and clarity in everything you watch. Leveraging intelligent dual database processing, pictures look cleaner with less on-screen noise. Every single pixel is enhanced beautifully by Sony’s best 4K HDR Picture Processor X1 Ultimate.
See the big picture with 4K HDR, IMAX Enhanced and Dolby Vision
High Dynamic Range (HDR) picture is the way TV was always meant to be watched. 4K Ultra HD resolution and HDR video content combine to bring dazzling detail, color and contrast to everything you watch, while keeping a far wider range of brightness than other video formats. IMAX Enhanced makes movies feel larger than life. Dolby Vision brings scenes to life with striking highlights, deeper darks and vibrant colors.
Every seat is the best seat in the house
X-Wide Angle technology gives the X950G vivid real-world colors from any angle while retaining more color and brightness than other LED TVs. Enjoy a great picture with incredible color from anywhere in the room.
On-screen action and motion look better than ever
Scenes appear as they do in real life with X-Motion Clarity technology. This revolutionary, best in class technology from Sony refines action on the screen in real time with an incredible refresh rate for action that is brighter and clearer than ever before.
Smooth and vibrant colors
Colors are as rich and vivid as nature’s own thanks to the TRILUMINOS Display with more shades of red, green and blue than ever before. You’ll enjoy rich, authentic images that evoke the emotion in every scene. And, 4K HDR Super Bit Mapping reveals thousands of shades and gradations of light, for sunsets as bright and clear as real life.
An immersive audio experience
Acoustic Multi-Audio adds two sound-positioning tweeters in the rear of the TV in addition to the bass reflex speakers to produce Sound-from-Picture Reality. With action and sound precisely aligned, your viewing becomes so much more immersive.
Well-connected to your smart home
With Google Home and Amazon Alexa compatibility, simply voice-control your TV and ask it to do things like cast and control videos from YouTube with Google Home or change the channel or volume with Amazon Alexa. Apple HomeKit and Airplay 2 compatibility seamlessly integrates your iPhone, iPad and Mac with your Sony TV for effortless smart home management and content streaming.
Enjoy studio quality Netflix content with Netflix Calibrated Mode
This mode was specially developed to enjoy Netflix originals and reproduce picture quality on a TV that is as brilliant as a studio evaluation master. With Netflix Calibrated Mode, the creator’s vision and intent is faithfully preserved.

Less than 2 years ago we bought a 65 inch M series Vizio TV and it no longer turns on. Going from such a relatively new TV to the Sony was almost as breathtaking as going from a CRT TV to a HDR TV. I am blown away by how much better everything looks on this TV compared to my 2017 Vizio. And this TV is fast. Like super quick response time. I love everything about it so far, bought it about 5 weeks ago am rewatching movies I watched in Dolby Vision just 2 months ago and I am noticing things that I missed with the Vizio. Sometimes it's worth it to get good quality and this is one of those times
I am a previous owner of the X900F, an excellent TV! I was very happy with it. But when this new 950G came out it's new added features and processing power had me drooling and I had to have it. Unfortunately my wallet does not allow for an A9G, otherwise that would be my personal pick. The 950G added Sony's X1-Ultimate processing chip (the baddest TV chip on the planet as far as I'm concerned), hands free Google assistant, a more robust Bluetooth remote (it's worth it just for the remote honestly), Netflix calibrated mode (makes nature documentaries look incredible), and improved off angle viewing in the larger sizes. (Note the 65" does not have their X-Wide angle off angle viewing technology, though I never seem to have issues with it anyhow). The blacks are to the eye deep enough though there is some light blooming. (This is to be expected from an LED tv. Don't like that? Buy an OLED). The colors POP like crazy. Sony strikes the balance between natural and reference quality type picture quality while still dazzling you with robust colors, contrast, and clarity. The motion on this TV is insane and the input lag is the lowest on any TV Sony's ever made. So it's great for gaming. All of these features with it priced at the same level as mid-tier competitions TV's makes it an obvious choice in my eyes. Why pay more for a "flagship" 3,000 QLED or OLED when you might be satisfied with this? Just a thought. All in all, the 950G has more than exceeded my expectations and I recommend it to everyone I meet.
I've had the X950G for about a month. I don't subscribe to NETFLIX or any other programming that offers 4K programming. I have watched a couple of 4K DVD's and am very satisfied. I've owned 4 Sony TV's in the last 20 years. There's a reason I keep going with Sony, I don't feel you can go wrong. Very impressed, I love my Sony. Even without 4K programming, I can see the quality in over the air and Dish programming.
This X950G television is very nice, the picture is awesome right out of the box, the menus are easy to navigate and the new remote while thin and long is an improvement over the old style remote.
Set up was quick and easy, 4K movies look super on this television and Blu-Rays upscale very nicely. DVD's will look a little soft but it is asking a lot to upscale a DVD to almost 4K quality.
The design of the television is very modern and does not become a focal point and make it a distraction in the room, it just looks modern and out of the way until you tun it on and get blown away by the awesome picture this television delivers.
We also have an X900F which is an awesome television in its own right but this X950G is even a little better. We have the 55 inch version of the X950G in our master bedroom and our X900F is a 65 inch in our living room.
I am very happy with my newly purchased X950G. The HDR imaging is fantastic. I could have sprung for OLED, but decided to save the cash. It doesn't really matter much anyways as it is mounted on the wall in a brightly lit room. The blacks are plenty deep and the local dimming really makes the images pop off the screen. The display itself has a very narrow bevel, and is only a couple inches thick. I could have gone even cheaper, but I specifically picked the X950G over the X900 because of the faster processor and the better sound output. The five built in speakers offer plenty of sound for most rooms and is good enough to use without a sound bar.
I am very happy with my purchase.
Bought in sept 2019. . TV fine . Remote chipped/scratched?
I was very happy with this purchase until a line appeared down the screen in less than 60 days.
