For a 75inch tv it has a very nice picture and I couldn't be more happy with my purchase, the app setup is fairly easy to use but that's because I came from being a Samsung tv user, but got used to it very quickly, plays my movies off my usb very easy and no hiccups, and looks great on my wall!

About This Item
Uncover the detail with 4K HDR
High Dynamic Range (HDR) will change the way you look at TV. Combined with 4K Ultra HD resolution, HDR video content delivers exceptional detail, color and contrast, with a far wider range of brightness than other video formats. The result is the most lifelike picture TVs have ever been able to create, with brilliant highlights and fine detail.
Upscale to a more natural picture
The difference is clear. You?ll see lifelike detail and stunning clarity, no matter what you're watching. Two powerful image improvement databases work together, dynamically improving images in real time. 4K X-Reality PRO upscales images to near 4K clarity while a second database cleans the picture and reduce on-screen noise
Action just like real life
TV that keeps up with real life. Sony?s refresh rate technology (Motionflow XR) allows fast moving action sequences in sports and movies to be seen with lifelike clarity.
Scenes appear more realistic with Dynamic Contrast Enhancer
A full range of brightness is part of what makes a TV great. The Dynamic Contrast Enhancer inside of the X800G renders differences between light and dark portions of images with advanced precision, creating a picture with more detail and contrast than conventional TVs.

Sights, Sounds, and the Great Experience
I bought this television a few days ago. Since turning the television on, my experience has been a true pleasure. The picture and colors are nothing short of amazing. The picture is so natural that it feels like you are there. I am currently watching a baseball game and you couldn't get any closer to the field unless you went to the game and sat in the first row. The sound is also a huge benefit with this television. I do not have any speakers hooked up outside of this television, yet it seems like I am in a theater, as the sound projects itself very well. This television was a bit pricier with comparable models from LG and Samsung, however I believe the extra cost in price is really made up in quality.
Bought on Black Friday. The setup took all of 5 minutes, and practically did it by itself. All I did was hook up the cable feed, answered a couple of onscreen questions, and I was ready to go. Great picture, the quality is amazing, and this TV replaced a three year old 65" Sony 850 model.
Great picture awesome price
We finally upgraded and didn't expect all the extras sony gives So far its been easy to navigate thru the options easy set up with video for those who like to pause...were still getting used to all the options and clear picture I highly recommend this
Initial thoughts - 55X800G
We've only owned this TV for 2 weeks as of this review. There is a learning curve for this product as there is for everything but it is fairly intuitive. Our previous, and still functional, TV was a 43 in. JVC w/Roku which we were very pleased with when purchased 5-6 yrs ago. This Sony is set-up about 72 in. from where we sit and the vertical center of the screen is at eye-level. So far, my wife and I both agree that the picture and sound quality of this Sony are outstanding and far better than any TV we've owned before. Moreover, this is even with old-style inputs of cable TV and component video connections from cable box. (Local cable provider is soon going to upgrade boxes for HDMI.) The WiFi streaming (via a 10+yr old router ~20 ft. away in another room) has been superb with literally no lag, jitter or pixelation. Almost more amazingly, the response times of the TV to both the remote and WiFi have been surprisingly fast.
As previously noted, there is a learning curve with both the remote and the TV settings. However, even at age 67 (though computer literate for 35+ yrs), it hasn't been difficult to figure out. It is very satisfying and surprising that the new remote will also control our 15+ yr-old Sony Blu-ray player without additional codes or programming. Thank you, Sony!! The buttons/controls on the remote are nicely arranged and relatively easy to get to using one hand. However, they might be a bit difficult for people with large or arthritic fingers.
Overall, we are both quite happy with our new Sony TV and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. We had thought about getting a 65 in. but decided that would be too big for our small (<500 sq. ft.) living room and we're glad we bought the 55 inch. Almost can't wait to upgrade our DVD player to one capable of 4K HDR to see the full benefit of this technology. In the meantime, even with older, lower definition inputs, this TV shines brilliantly!
