Muffin top/ not flattering

I'm usually anywhere from a 6-8. I bought the medium 8-10. I'm a sz 29 waist and these cut into my sides and gave me a muffin top. Maybe a large would work better- but I think the butt would be baggy then. Just not made right.

I bought similar suit last year and loved it. However this suit needs to be purchased with top and bottom separately. I always do this because I need different sizes. Unfortunately, Walmart.com let me purchase and pay for both pieces but then did not ship both pieces so I have to return the bottoms. Very disappointing
