I wish I can add Syrup BEFORE adding Co2...
It's a pity that there is no possibility to add Syrup BEFORE adding Co2 1. It says to add Co2 first, to add Syrup LATER and to shake the bottle mixing it- as far as it became less sparkly fresh - I've tried to add Syrup BEFORE... certainly I've got the volcano and .. cleaning up my room ))) :p 2. If to make water as sparkly as the one I buy in a shop - it needs more Co2 - so- I'd say I've got less than 60 bottles. These are 2 reasons why I didn't give it 5 stars - though 4 is also a pretty good result))

Not as good as hoped !!!!!!!!
not sure if I'm doing something wrong - but it doesn't really taste like real soda and can't get it to hold any fizz past the first drink . I have read the manual many times and tried everything they said - Guess I'm just VERY DISAPOINTED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best Gift I Ever Gave My Daughter for myself!

My daughter drinks so much pop that we have to adjust the budget. Anywhere from 5 to 8 2 liter bottles are what she purchases each week. It really adds up. It also stacks up in the trash, the cans attract bugs and nothing smells worse than old soda pop in the garbage. So, I gave her this one for Christmas. She was wide eyed and LOVED it. Now, she LOVES it after we have tried it. The lemon lime tastes just like old school 7up, made with sugar and served in a bottle. The diet cola was my choice and I found it delicious. There is such a great variety, the pricing is fair. It doesn't require electricity and if you follow the instructions, it is simple and takes just a few minutes to prepare. Oh, and NO MESS. I already made some calculations and it will most likely save us over $400 a year. That is even taking into consideration the usage of the Carbonation gas canisters! It is a GREAT buy!

Easy to assemble and use. Flavorings are ok

The whole machine is very easy to assemble and use. If you like carbonated water, this could save you a lot of money over time. The soda flavorings were not wonderful but you can add any flavorings you want after the water is carbonated, so you can fix a drink that is naturally lower in calories than soda. We like using about 4 oz. of fruit juice to 12 oz. carbonated water. It tastes great and has less calories. The carbonation canisters have to be replaced after each 60 liters of water are carbonated, but they are available at several local stores. So far, we like the machine and are pleased that it only takes a minute to make a liter of carbonated water.

    Love my SodaStream!

I have been wanting one of these for quite awhile and was really thrilled when the price started to creep downward, also was happy to be able to get it in red to match my kitchen. I can drink water all day long as long as it has bubbles! I have always had to go out of my way to find sparkling water that did not have artificial sweeteners. Sparkling water with flavors of fruit juice without the nasty chemicals have made me a very happy person. One warning I would like to add is that if you buy the SodaStream flavors the WalMart website does not tell you the ingredients. Do not be fooled!!! The flavors that are NOT diet have sucralose (Splenda) and another artificial sweetener.

    Tastes just like name brand

I bought this as a gift and it has been a big hit. The product is small so it fits easily beside my coffee pot without taking up too much space. We have tried the lemon lime (tastes like Sprite), Cola (Coke) and Energy (Red Bull). In fact, I tried to trick my husband and put a little Red Bull in a glass and a little Soda Stream Energy in a glass and had him taste it. He actually preferred the Soda Stream! The only thing I would like to see is two containers. For the price, one container does not seem effecient and two additional ones are $20. Overall we like it. Beware of the shipping though. The CO2 canister is considered hazmat, so they require a direct signature upon delivery. Make sure you track your item so that someone is home. We almost did not receive this in time for Christmas, because that information is not shared when you order it. After two missed deliveries, we had to contact FedEX and they shared that with us.

    easy and simple

I bought this about two months ago and have used it several times. It works fine and I predict it will last my family a long time. One downside (or annoyance) I've had with this product is screwing the bottle into place. To do this the front "button" or lever must be pressed down with one hand and the bottle screwed in with the other hand. I have found it somewhat difficult to screw in the bottle with only one hand. I can imagine an easy fix to the product if the "button" would somehow click/lock in place when pressed down, which would free up both hands to screw the bottle in place. To release the lock a side button could be installed to lower/unhitch the lock mechanism. Not sure if I wrote that clearly enough for everyone to understand, sorry! But other than that hitch the product is very useful and environmentally friendly- no more buying bottles of carbonated water! 4 stars

    Great seltzer water

I bought the soda stream machine so I could make seltzer water. I know that a person is supposed to drink half their weight in ounces of water each day, i.e. someone who weighs 150 needs to drink 75 ounces daily. One bottle of unflavored soda water (seltzer) equals 33 oz, and it tastes so nice and light that it helps me keep up my quota.

Appears to do what it says, but expensive

Initial cost of the unit is high, but I can live with that. However, the proprietary connector for the proprietary CO2 tank, and the proprietary threads on the proprietary bubbler bottle, make this unit expensive to operate, too. There is no reason for any of these to be proprietary except to maximize the income to the manufacturer, and I would be much more enthusiastic if I could substitute readily available parts.

a decent product for the cost

Very easy to use, I can take it outside when we family gatherings, the flavors are a bit off, but they are still good, the carbonation does not last as long, but I usually don't let my drinks sit for to long a time. Overall I think it's a good value for the cost

Not as good as hoped !!!!!!!!

    1. You exchange the used canister for the new one at about 1/2 price sort of like propane tanks.
    by marhanallu
    2. You can take them to customer service to get a replacement for $15 if you did not damage the bottle.
    by Iseriad
    3. Many stores that sell soda stream give you a discount on the new canister when you bring in an empty one.
    by Ravenkitty
    4. You can take them to a bunch of stores and trade them in at a cheaper cost than buying new canisters. Walmart, Target, and Bed, Bath & Beyond are three stores that I can think of off the top of my head that do a trade-in program, but Sodastream has more stores listed on their website.
    by codarus
    5. If you take the empty CO2 container to the customer service dept. at Walmart - the new CO2 is only $14.95 instead of $29.95. Great deal. They then return them to the company to get them refilled for resale.
    by Missd4545
    6. There are lots of retailers that exchange them for full ones. Bed Bath and Beyond and Staples are just two. You can check on line for retailers and gas suppliers to get refilled cartridges. Just bring your empty one in for exchange.
    by Sbyhomeowner
    7. They have what they call refill .But it's more like a trade in .You pay less than the cost for a new one . You have to bring in the old one to get it for a lesser price. Target is one store I know that offers this service. Check the sodastream website for others.
    by BrooklynMomma1
    8. You exchange them just like BBQ propane tanks. Walmart customer service can help
    by BrownFamily1
    9. You exchange them for one that is filled at Walmart and other retailers that carry Sodastream products.
    by Bernie45
    10. You can take them to Bed Bath and beyond and turn them in and get a new one
    by elksbird1
    11. You take the canisters back to the store usually at the service desk and you can get a refill for a reduced fee because you are credited for the empty canister. Usually $12 -$15 instead of the almost $30 that they are marked on the shelve

    1. replace co2 by unscrewing old tank, taking it to the store where you will exchange for a full tank at a cost of around $15-18 and then just take the small plastic cap off the new stank and screw it into your machine. Very easy. I do this at my local hardware store, but you can also go to Bed, Bath, & Beyond, and now I think Walmart and other places as well. Good luck!
    by Reviewer124356
    2. Depends on where you go to buy a new one around $30.00 to trade out the used one for a new one 14.99.
    by unhappysc
    3. You just unscrew the canister and the cheapest way to get the next cylinder is to take it to your local walmart if they have the service and they will change it out for about $15.00
    by Gallia45631
    4. The CO2 cartridge is very easy to replace. Just unscrew the cap and screw the cartridge onto the nozzle of the sodastream. Easy pictures to follow. that is the only "assembly". To buy a new cartridge it is $29.95 - or you can take your used/empty cartridge to the Wal-Mart Customer Service desk and they will replace it for $14.95.
    by Missd4545
    5. Unlike 18 months ago, when this was gaining popularity, there are now many places to exchange your co2 cartridge. There are listings on line, but Staples and Bed Bath and Beyond are just two places that have them available. It's not cost effective to buy new ones ($24) when refill exhanges cost about $15.
    by Sbyhomeowner
    6. you replace an empty tank by unscrewing it from your machine, taking it to walmart, and exchange it for a refilled one at 15.00
    by Waldo6877
    7. The Co2 Cartridges are very easy to replace; -you just screw them into place and are located in the back of your Jet Machines. To buy a brand new cartridge will run you around $30 and to purchase a cartridge exchange it is 1/2 price, so around $15 -of course all these prices will depend on your local area and store prices. I have shopped different stores for the exchange and they run around the prices mentioned
    by ilovecarrottjuice
    8. I bought an extra co2 cannister with my Sodastream so we'd always have a fresh one. When I empty one I take it back into Walmart and exchange it for a full one. About half the cost of a new canister which is about $30.
    by Dollmaker
    9. Last part first, $14.99 for an exchange 60L CO2 bottle at many, many stores including WalMart, Staples, Many kitchen stores, Best Buy, etc. A spare bottle is about $30.00 and, if you really like the Soda Stream carbonated water, you'll want to get one so you don't run out of gas (cute, huh). To replace, follow the instruction book. Remove the back cover of the machine and just unscrew the CO2 bottle and screw in a full one. Just be careful not to cross thread it. No gas will blow out when removing or installing since the valve is part of the bottle. Then snap the rear cover on and take the empty in for an exchange.
    by OldTechGeek
    10. You can get replacement at walmart for about $30.00
    by Baggypants1
    11. I take my empty cannister to Liberty Pawn Shop near my home and they refill it for $7.00. You guys need to check around, lol!!! :)

    1. You may want to go to Sodastream.com or call their number to ask what they offer first before you buy. They are easy to get, but you have to check around to get the best prices
    by MawMaw73
    2. they range from 4.95 to 6.95 depending on size and flavor. also easy to find. go to sodastream.com and you can find local store. I buy mine at walmart. Its so worth it!
    by lana3272003
    3. Each bottle of soda syrup equals 33 cans of soda for $5-$7, depending on flavor. Less then 25 cents a can! Plus Walmart carries a better selection of flavors than most places. SodaStream makes 60+ flavors. I think Walmart carries 30. SodaStreamUSA.com lists them all.
    by SodaGuy
    4. You can get them at the Walmart store and there are plenty of flavors, both regular and diet. The cost is very reasonable for each bottle which makes approx 50 bottles(approx 1 qt). It costs less than a 12 pack at the grocery store.
    by Karebear60
    5. I have seen them at Walmart and Best Buy.
    by momof3boys4
    6. As far as I know they don't sale the Flavor Variety Packs in the stores. But they do come in your Store bought SodaStream Starter Kit Box. I do know they are separately sold at SodaStream.com; they come in a 12 pack for $9.99 on their site. The Bottled Syrups are not expensive at all. Most stores sale them for 4.96 plus tax. The larger bottled syrups are around 6$-to-$10. http://www.sodastreamusa.com/
    by ilovecarrottjuice
    7. mixed flavor packs are usually 10.00 individule flavors run 5-10 dollars
    by Waldo6877
    8. They are not really expensive, but they are easy to order. I haven't tried to shop for them at the actual store, though, so I can't speak for the availability there.
    by RayneStar13
    9. no they are either $5 or $7 and you get a lot out of them. and you can order either online at walmart or your local walmart.
    by arnold2012
    10. Flavor packs are easy to purchase. Most major stores carry them. They cost about $6 per bottle.
    by Hatamosa
    11. Flavor packs are not expensive, and they are very easy to get now that Walmart is selling them. BB&B also sells it. You can also buy it online from SodaStream.
