If you like contemporary romance that has a good dose of real life, this book is for you. Sisters Harper and Stacey are quite different, but both their storylines ring pretty true. Their mother Bunny is a handful. Being in her late 50; she almost seems to young to subscribe to the man is always right adage, but that is how she raised her girls. Harper took that Susie Homemaker lifestyle to heart, and now divorced, is trying to make ends meets as a Virtual Assistant for people and businesses. It seems to be a jack of all trades/work from home job, but she still has time to spend with her teenage daughter Becca. Not that Becca wants to spend time with her.I truly enjoyed the return of Lucas, a cop from an earlier Mischief Bay story. Stacey took after their grandfather and is a scientist worthy of a role on Big Bang. Her pregnancy seems to be upending her life, even if she doesn't know it. Her husband Kit is a perfect complement to their family, as is his nephew Ashton. Mallery lets us share these lives and the result is a well written, strong story. These Mischief Bay books keep getting better and better.

Two sisters, two diffe...
Two sisters, two different life styles, but the same mother that always was perfect and critical. Harper was the sister who made everything from scratch and owned a virtual assistant business that she tried to do all alone. She struggled with her finances since her husband left her for a younger woman, left her with a teenage daughter, and left her with no financial help. Stacey was the sister who was a brilliant, successful scientist who never thought she would be pregnant and keeps denying the fact that she is to be a mother soon. The worst thing was that she still hadn't told her overbearing mother she is expecting.....that definitely won't go well. SISTERS LIKE US was a light read that addressed everyday situations with spouses and teenagers and some actual family situations that could happen even though they were stretched to the limit a bit. I enjoyed SISTERS LIKE US and enjoyed most of the characters including Bunny the overbearing, critical mother. There were some laugh-out-loud moments as well as some what-are-you doing moments. Some parenting advice as well as some romance was included. A book always needs a little romance. If you need a fun, heartfelt read, give SISTERS LIKE US a try. 5/5 This book was given to me free of charge and without compensation by the publisher in return for an honest review.

Wow, I thought I had been to Mischief Bay before. Turns out, not only had I not been there, this is also my first book by Susan Mallery. I know, what rock have I been under? Hey, I had heard of her. Ha!! I have SO enjoyed my time in Mischief Bay. The characters really grew on me, and quickly. And, this is book number 4!! Their major problems might have been cheesy and corny, but I forgot mine while reading the book. I am, however, sad that it's over. But I take comfort, now, knowing there are 3 more already that were previous to this one. So, yes I loved this book and would definitely recommend it. I received an ARC from the author via her "Review Crew" in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. Thank you, I totally enjoyed my time in Mischief Bay!!!

It bit to warm up to this story and sisters, Harper and Stacy. Which, to be honest, I didn't really fully embrace them. However, if had to pick one that I liked better it would be Harper. This is because it seemed that he was more focused within the story then Stacy. Speaking of Stacy, The romance between she and Lucas was playful. In the beginning, there was more of a friendship status going on than a romantic one. When it came to Stacy, she felt more real. In the way that she was feeling towards her pregnancy and how she reacted to other things. The two sisters did balance each other out. This book may be the fourth one in this series but it can be read as a stand alone novel. While, this was not a favorite of mine, I did enjoy the prior novel and hope that the next one for me hits me in all the right spots. Still I found this book to be a nice read.
