This product is made with natural ingredients and very gentle on my hair. I have natural hair and this product is great for providing and maintaining moisture. I use it in combination with other Shea Moisture products (shampoo, conditioner, etc). I have been using Shea Moisture products for 4 years now (since transitioning from using damaging relaxers, then sew-in or glue-in weaves, hair pieces, and finally to wigs and weave caps for several years). I plan to continue using Shea Moisture because this product has been excellent for my hair. I used several other brand natural hair products, but this seemed to be the best brand for my hair. My daughter transitioned from a relaxer about 7 years ago and she told me about the Shea Moisture product line.
In addition, I sent this product (and other Shea Moisture products) to my elderly mom who was experiencing severe breakage and some balding. The situation with her hair made her extremely self-conscious and upset because she always had a full flowing head of beautiful hair. As she got older, her hair thinned and got dry. (This is common with some people as they grow older.) However, this product reversed her hair loss and she just loves it for maintaining moisture in her hair. She told me last week that her hair has grown in so much now that it is again down her back and in need of a professional cut, which she is going to see a stylist. Even my dad is using her Shea Moisture products now in his hair!
This product makes my hair very soft. I have 4D hair if you are wondering about the tightness of my hair curls. My mom has 3A hair curls, which are much bigger and looser than mine. I want to add that Caucasian people also love this and other Shea Moisture products. I know this because I have Caucasian friends who use it. Shea Moisture products are being used by people with diverse hair types, so it is for just about anyone.
