I actually got this clock to use at my bedside since I no longer need an alarm to get up in the morning, but the function is available if I need it. The typical LED clocks for a bedside were just to bright for me since I like to sleep with the room very dark. If I need to see the time in the middle of the night I can just press the snooze button which turns on a small light to illuminate the clock. The alarm is so nice, it starts out somewhat quiet for a bit, then increases in volume and intensity and will not stop till the snooze is pressed or the switch on the back is turned to off. This clock uses one double A battery (not included) so it is also very lightweight as well. Perfect little clock for any area you don't have an outlet available. I included photos of the back of this clock so you would see how simple and easy this clock is to use.

Not a very good alarm clock
The Sharp Black Quartz Analog Arch Alarm Clock is just an okay clock at best. It doesn't have anything special about it other than telling the time and being an alarm to wake you. I feel like the light on this clock could have been a little better. Right now, the light is in the top left corner and just shines a little bit. I guess this is good for when it's a really dark room and you don't want too much light but I have a hard time seeing the time at night with that little light. The hour and minute hands each have a little glow in the dark piece at the ends but if your clock is in a darker room all day they don't light up at night. The little turn dials in the back are very small and a bit hard to turn if you have big hands, especially the one that sets the alarm. You need one AA battery for this clock to work and it's not provided. The alarm is not that loud at all. If you are a heavy sleeper like me, you are not waking up to this alarm at all. This seems like it would be a good alarm for light sleepers who don't want to wake their partner with their alarm clock. It tells time really well though.

Simple

This is it for me. Super easy and simple to set up. Its basic. I'm saying.good bye to complicated alarms and hitting 15 buttons before it does anything.... this.is perfectly easy

Put the battery in and set the time. One button to push for the alarm. One button for the snooze. One button for on and off. I love technology but sometimes it's too much. Plus. How cute is this darn thing? The color is my favorite and it's just plain cute.

Small, yet Modern

I received the Sharp Mint QA Alarm Clock for an unbiased review. First I will say, it is true to color. It is a very modern mint color. I actually think this color would work for men, women, boys, or girls. It could be masculine, yet fashionable or ‘cute and modern' for a woman or girl. The top button is a nice silver/grey as pictured and it is large enough to smack it in the morning to turn off the alarm. That button can also be used as a backlight, which is great for when you need a little light in the middle of the night. For the low price, this is definitely a good buy. It could be used for anyone and is really modern looking. It's not too small either. It uses a battery and was very easy to set up. The alarm has a 4 minute snooze and it starts low and continues to get louder which is really nice if one person has to get up and doesn't want to alarm or wake up the other person in the room. It's very easy to use and quick to set up. It would work well for a morning alarm or even a cute kitchen alarm or timer.

Small, easy to use clock

I got the Sharp Quartz Analog Alarm Clock through Walmart's Spark Reviewer Program. The clock is made of plastic, predominantly black with the snooze/light button located at the top being a very visible silver, that does not feel very durable. It is a small and simple clock, with the time being easily set with the time setting button at the back, which is also where the alarm button is located. While the manual instructs how to set the alarm, it is advisable to switch on the alarm on/off button (also located  at the back) before turning the alarm setting button to set the alarm. The clock uses a AA battery. It alarms in an ascending beeping, mild, slow beeping at first, which reduces the jarring effect that some alarms have and then builds to a louder, faster beeping. It snoozes for 4 minutes then resumes alarming in its ascending manner. The light button is useful for night use and works with the reflectors on the clock's hands. It is an easy to use clock that will be a useful addition to any night stand.

Such a cute little clock

This is such a cute little clock that doesn't take up much space at all! It's very easy to use and operate. It did not have any instructions, but it was super easy to use and set up. It does take a AA battery (not included). There are two little knobs on the back that you use to set the time and set the alarm. There is a slide button on the back to turn the alarm off/on. The button on top is a snooze button and there is also a little light that turns on with that one so you can see the time. It's a great clock to take on the road if you need to and have one in a pinch. I love it! The mint color is so pretty!

Small and compact

Alarm clock is simple and does the job of waking me up in the morning. There are two dials on the back to set time and to set alarm time. There is also a switch on the back to turn off or turn on the alarm. The snooze/light is on the top of the clock. When alarm goes off and you want to snooze, a small light will appear in the left (by the 10 o'clock position) to help see the time better (if it's still dark) when the snooze button is pressed. Light will only stay on if this button is pressed. Alarm will sound again 4 minutes after every snooze. To turn off the alarm, a quick switch on the back will do it. Alarm clock is as big as my hand and fits nicely on my nightstand. As with all analog clocks, there will be nonstop ticking, but I don't mind! It actually puts me to sleep!

Love the retro but no glow in the dark

I love the look of this little retro waker upper! Simple to use. Compact. Would travel well. I use it everyday. Like the face light feature... press the snooze/light button on top for back light. Knobs on back are a bit challenging for bigger fingers but doable. A simple switch to turn alarm on/off on rear of clock. It's great for anywhere you want an unobtrusive clock with a face and hands! I put my clock in the sun for several hours to light up the glow-in-the-dark hands but could barely see a glow in a dark room and it wasn't long before the glow disappeared altogether. Personally, I don't need that feature. When I can't sleep I don't want to look over and see what time it is.

Hourly alarm only?

Okay first of all, this alarm is very cute. I love the color. I was surprised by how small it was. Obviously if you read the description that won't shock you but I must've missed it. Secondly, I've had this clock in my daughters room and still can't figure out if it's a true alarm clock or just meant more as a kitchen timer, because there is only one hand so it goes off within the hour you set it for, but I could be missing something. I tried to read the instructions but all it said was use the alarm knob to set it, but there was only a minute hand to set. So that's very disappointing as I was using it as an alarm to keep my daughter in bed longer. But the size and color are cute, if you click it it glows but you have to hold the button down, and I wish instead that you could push it once quickly and it would glow for 10-30 seconds.

Hi, analog alarms can be set on both the hour and half hour. For example: to wake at 7:30, place the alarm hand between the 7 and 8. Any additional questions can be answered by emailing custserv_clocks@mzb.com.

Handy Little Clock

I needed a small clock, for my bathroom, which did not require an electrical outlet. This little clock seemed to suit my requirements, so I was glad to receive it, to test and review. To begin, the clock is smaller then I had anticipated and is extremely light weight. Not very substantial, at all. However, it keeps good time and is very easy to read, even from across the room. The clock runs on one AA battery, so does not need to be placed near an outlet. It has a backlight, which may be used to read the time more easily, in the dark and it has glow in the dark hands. It also has an alarm, with a four minute snooze. The clock is very user friendly and I am happy with it, as it suits my needs perfectly. Light, simple to use and would travel well. Very handy.

Keeps good time for a battery operated clock

The clock is in an open faced box, no cellophane or plastic. The clock is held in the box by a tiny Phillips screw through a plastic disc, the back of the box and into the back of the clock. One positive fact is that you don't need to find a screwdriver. The disc has two raised pieces, so it can be unscrewed by hand like a wingnut.

It comes with good instructions, but ignore the generic battery warning (i.e. don't mix old and new batteries, don't mix battery types - alkaline, standard or rechargeable) because it only takes ONE AA battery.

The instructions mention and on demand back light. The light appears to be an LED next to the #10 on the face of the clock, not a back light. The light is turned on by pressing and holding the snooze button. The light is sufficient to light the face of the clock in a dark room.

The clock is only 3 inches tall, so I would be reluctant to try the light in a dark room. More apt to end up with the clock on the floor.

The time and alarm adjustment knobs are in an oval depression on the back. The knob for setting the time is easy to use. The side of the depression by the alarm set knob sticks out farther than next to the time time knob making it hard to adjust the alarm. I could only manage to adjust the alarm 30 minutes at a time.

The alarm speaker is a small spot on the back of the clock. When the alarm goes off it has a pulsing chirp for about 7 seconds before switching to a constant louder chirp.

With the clock 2 feet away, I could barely hear the first alarm and even the constant alarm didn't seem that loud. I hit the snooze button to silence the alarm and turned the clock around backwards. When the alarm went off the second time I could hear it.

I set the alarm the first night and slept through the alarm the next morning.

The second night I set the alarm and turned the clock around backwards and it woke me up with the constant louder alarm.

I would be afraid to depend on the alarm if I really needed to get up for some reason. I'll only use the alarm if I'm already up and with the clock turned backwards to remind me that I need to leave for an appointment.

It keeps good time for a battery operated clock. Over a period of two weeks, it gained two seconds each week.
