Beware of this TV's updates

I ordered the tv exactly one month today and waited the time to make sure I give a as accurate review as possible. I gave two stars because the picture and sound quality of the TV is actually pretty good. Although I haven't experienced the 4k capabilities of the TV because everything being broadcasted is 720 to 1080p at the most. Eitherway, I honestly am regretting this buy. Each time I turn the TV on I'm wondering whats wrong with it now. Since I've had this tv. I've had to do the factory reset on it twice. I've had to reboot the tv way too often because the tv freezes up and will not respond to the remote. I mean freezes literally the picture along with all functions of the TV. Now, to be detailed the first week the tv performance was amazing all the apps worked Netflix, YouTube etc. Which is a flaw I didn't get a around to mentioning the apps often when accessed would just display a black screen without response that was mostly when the tv froze when trying to excess the apps. You couldn't even turn the TV off. You had to manually unplug it and wait long enough for the tv to disconnect itself because if you plugged it back in to soon. It would still be stuck on that black screen and or frozen picture. But back to what I was saying all of this didn't not happen until while watching the tv a message came across the screen from the manufacturer, I take it. Saying that the tv had updates available. It does not give you the option to decline this update. So to continue I basically had to do the update to continue watching the television. After the update another message came saying that the tv would now reboot and did it ever. It was as if a virus was downloaded to the tv everything I tried to access on the remote I now had to push 2-3 times before the tv would respond. This is what led to my first factory reset. Which seemed to have worked. But the tv still acts up when trying to access built in apps I'm now in the process of trying to contact sharp or rather whoever owns the company now. To see if the tv has some troubleshooting options. Before trying to get it looked at by a professional. I'm thinking I bought the tv brand new after only a month it should be still covered by some type of warranty and also, I just found out that the sharp logo doesn't actually mean it's a sharp product anymore. The sharp I know use to make a pretty decent tv. And has been around since I was a kid watching cartoons eating cereal on Saturday in front of the TV. The tv is a good buy overall without the update. but if you get that update message just know there's a good chance you're screwed. Hopefully my tv is a isolated incident. I wouldn't want anyone to have to go through this much trouble with a new purchase. Eitherway good luck. And I personally recommend tcl brand it's away better product, performance wise and just all around smarter purchase.

Disappointed

I knew from reading the reviews this TV could easily be damaged or defective and miine was. Mailed back over a week ago and have not received a refund from Walmart.

Great TV for 300 if it works!

I have had it for less then a week. Shipping was delayed and today sharp sent out an update. After downloading and installing the update it tells me that the TV will be restarting. After the restart the sharp logo shows up, then the "SMART" logo is displayed and then the tv gets stuck! I have unplugged it over and over again but nothing. It continues to freeze at "SMART". Shap website is 0 help! They have no type of firmware available to download and possibly install. I will call the sharp service department tomorrow. For the price the TV is great if it works! Very Very Disappointed!!!

Delivered Damaged

When I opened the box, the screen was bent OUTWARDS and cracked nearly from one end to the other.

TV OK but Qview app and web support worthless.

Ok picture but cannot find model number on their web site to get full manual or register. When I sent a complaint to them they replied wanting me serial number, model number (which I had already given them) , and other details they did not need to fix their web site. Trying to reply the reply failed. Also the app, Hisense Qview, that you have to use to view what is on your phone or PC is a joke. It crashes when you try to go to you apps that you want to see on the TV. It also only lets you put a few pictures on the TV to view instead of being able to slide show them from your phone. Crashed too much to try other as apps. App was last updated in 2015 so that is most of the problem.

Completely disappointed about this purchase

I have to agree with other reviews, DON'T buy this TV unless you have them test it for you in the store and you get the one tested. Do NOT buy it online because you might get a broken tv sent to you just like it happened to us. Dark spots on the left side of the screen as soon as the tv was unpacked and plugged in, no fix. I tried to get a refund but Walmart won't help.

No Hulu

I have had this TV for over a year and it’s picture and sound are fantastic! I would give it 5 stars if you could download Apps to it. I had Hulu previous to buying this TV but I also had Roku. I moved my Roku with the TV I was replacing so now I can only watch Hulu in that room. It would be nice if they replaced the YouTube option with Hulu.

Great picture, no streaming.

Fast delivery, easy setup. It does not do wifi well, so used a wired connection to the router. Works great on set top cable box and HDMI. Bad news - "smart tv" is anything but - it doesn't have access to any new and popular streaming channels like Hulu. Just a bunch of outdated third rate channels not worth paying for. If you want to use any other streaming channels hold out for a set that offers Roku.

Sound issues constantly

I had this tv a year now and I love the picture but it has MAJOR sound issues. Sometimes my sound won't work at all and then other times it seems like only one speaker is working and I have to put the volume on 45 -50 just to be able to hear my tv. I really wish they did something about that beccause otherwise it would be a really nice tv.
