I have been looking for a new vacuum for months! I had a Hoover, which I absolutely hated, and needed something that worked for me. I considered a Dyson but a friend at work talked me into trying the Shark and I am so happy she did! This is a wonderful vacuum. I practically runs itself across the floor. And it is so light! What more could you ask for...great suction, lightweight, self-propelled, quiet, and a great price. I bought this on sale and it was about a third of what a Dyson would have been. I am so happy with this vacuum! Works wonderfully on my carpet and equally well on my hardwood. You won't be disappointed!

Shark Rocket Professional Upright Corded Vacuum, NV481
|5 Year Limited Warranty|
I recently purchased this Shark Rocket Professional Vacuum at my local Walmart store--it is an amazing vacuum--so easy to use--so many great features--love the beaming headlights--push of a button to adjust from floor to carpet--when in floor mode brushes do not spin--when in carpet mode there are two separate lights on to indicate carpet on--all this right at hands reach--handle has two removable positions with attachments to allow for low or high reach--AWESOME!!--all this on board--has a decent cord length--swivel is so easy just twist of wrist to turn--really sucks of debris from floors, rugs and carpet--simple to clean out dust catcher. I am very happy with my Rocket. By the way it can be cleaned by running the canister under running water as well as filter--let air dry (especially the filter) I titled it Rocket Blast because when switch from floor to carpet mode it wants to BLAST off so it seems :) Thanks Shark and Walmart
This is definitely the best vacuum we have ever owned. I was a little skeptical when I saw it for under $200.00 and it was advertised as a "lightweight" vacuum. Because I thought it might come very light with cheap plastic that is very fragile, but I was wrong. This is a great durable vacuum. It was also just like the commercials as we had just vacuumed when it arrived. Just like the commercial the dust cup was filled just after going over a small portion of the room. If you don't have one yet you are truly missing out.
This vacuum replaces two Bissel vacuums that did not perform well for picking up pet hair. The Shark Rocket Professoinal is lightweight annd picks up the dirt and pet hair beautifully. Use of the attachments is very easy as the canister detaches for cleaning blinds, etc. The only negative is that there is no place to attached the pet brush and long extension want onboard the vacuum when not in use....otherwise the vacuum is terrific!
I love this vacuum. I used to run a cleaning business so I know a good vacuum when I use it and this is an AMAZING vacuum. It picks up the sand that get imbedded deep in your carpet that causes your carpet to look old and dirty. I have used other vacuums that have HEPA filters and claim to keep the dust in the cup but don't. This vacuum keeps the dust in the cup I don't notice any dust particles floating around in the light after I have finished vacuuming. This is a great buy and I highly recommend this product to people with big or small homes and who don't want to spend a lot of time cleaning.
Wow, so much dog hair!
Ok, I did the vacuum brand dance for 2 weeks before buying my Shark...read too many reviews, discussed the pros and cons much too intensely with my hubby and finally decided the price of a Dyson was just ridiculous. We got our horror show carpet professionally cleaned and ordered a Shark. It had every feature we were looking for except a retractable cord. Oh well. I had vacuumed the house right before I picked up the Shark from Wal-mart. Came home, put it together in 5 minutes without the instructions, and vacuumed up so much hair, I had to empty the dirt cup twice in the livingroom alone. Love this machine. Easy to use, long cord, no bags, easy to empty. It would get 5 stars except it's a little heavier than I would wish. I do love the very flexible detachable hose and the attachments. Great steering too, super easy to swivel around furniture.
My new Shark Rocket replaces a Hoover Wind Tunnel. The belt came off the Hoover every time I used it - it was infuriating. The Shark has far more suction than the Hoover and picking up deep down dirt the Hoover left behind. No problems with any belt coming off the Shark. In brush mode it seems to roll itself a little which makes it easier to push around. I would have given it a 5 star but the Shark won't really vacuum some of my throw rugs because the suction is too great, even with the brush roller turned off. these particular rugs have very thick pile and blob up when the Shark gets ahold of them. Thinner throw rugs with adequate rubber backing are not a problem. Also, I really liked the retractable cord on the Hoover and the Shark doesn't have a retractable cord. if it did i'd give it 5 stars.
light weight and self propelled
Ive had my "rocket" for 2 weeks and i love it. I have mostly low carpet in our home and it does a terrific job, however it does not seem to do the same quality job on my hardwood floors.I would rate it 4.5 stars on carpet but only a 3 on floors.every thing else as far as workmanship, ease of carrying changing filters etc.I would give all these a 5 star rating.
What I expect of Shark
This is my third Shark (I keep moving and giving my Shark away!) I have arthritis and need something lightweight. The suction and cleaning is great, as usual for Shark. I like the dusting brush, actually dusted my drapes! I can get a few inches under the furniture as well. It is lightweight, but It handles awkwardly with the weight of the motor at the top of the wand. It won't stand up by itself for a few seconds (if you need to move some furniture or pick up the cord). As with my last Shark, the swivel doesn't feel balanced and easy. Strong point: cleaning. Weak point: human interface
Picks up good
It's a good vacuum. I just haven't mastered how to control it. I'm used to a vacuum that goes where you want it to. This one turns on it's own. I call it the wacky vacuum. I just have to learn how to work it but it does pick up good. I own nothing but shark. They are great vacuums. It's just which one is good for you. My sister has the stick one. She loves it, but she also had a dyson that she loved and was used to the movement where I'm not. She got the shark cause it's cheaper than the dyson but works just as great.
