Good product
I bought this along with a portatil washer machine for my RV. I don't have dryer machine, so this clothsline works wonder to air dry my clothes inside. The retractable cord is an advantage , so it can be out of the way when not in use. The vinyl material is long lasting and strong. The clothsline is 20' long, I use only about 10' of it (due to my limit space..) The line wraps nicely around the bottom of the holder keeping it from retracting out more and keeping it tight. Holds very well towels, jeans ..without saging. Tip; hang the heavy clothes in the sides and the light ones in the middle for better weight distribution. My clothes usually dries well between 8-12 hrs but remember that can vary depending of the weather.

Waste of Resources
I bought this thinking that as you pulled the line out and attached to the other wall it would lock in place but it does not, you have to pull enough extra line out to wrap around the base to pull it tight. Bottom line save your money and buy a piece of string.

Handy retractable clothesline

Easy to install . Great for drying swimsuits, etc. Perfect solution and easily out of way when not in use.

Love it!

Bought online, picked up in store, put it up and love it ever since. I mounted it outside under our porch roof and use it for drying pool towels etc. it tucks away when not in use. Very good and sturdy clothes line for any length up to 20 feet. I would buy this one again.

Great clothesline!

I purchased this to hang behind my house to dry my sons' cloth diaper covers. It was easy to hang, works great, and I can hide the line when I'm done. Easy peasy! Great product!

Writing this review after replacing my old one!

As much as I used the thing, all I can say is that this +/- $10 product was well worth the price! It is used to hang my shirts from hangers (since I never machine dry my "business casual" shirts). The product isn't "industrial strength" though: I must say that the little "cleat" (the little plastic thing-a-ma-jit you wrap the clothesline to hold the weight of the damp clothes) broke pretty early on; but I was kinda rough with it when "cleating" the line. I had to resort to wrapping the line around the metal bracket that holds the clothesline to the wall (i'd just wrap it around two times, and presto! ...eeked out an extra 3-4 years from it). The loop that holds the line to the far end of the line also broke; but that was solved with tying a loop with the end of the line. The plastic insulation around the nylon line started sheering off and I felt it had finally had enough! Overall: more than met my expectations! Great value and very useful for apartment living!

Great little clothes line!

My girlfriend was hanging clothes on the shower curtain rod, and if I walked into my bathroom to see it full of clothes again, I was going to freak out like a Kardasian without access to social media. So I looked online and found this retractable clothesline. I mounted it in the laundry room, and so far it works great. Two screws for the base, and the hook on the other side, easy to install. When not in use, it folds against the wall. The strong cable supports several hangars with no problem.

Good Product

Vinyl Covered wire - good length (20') for my purposes. Retractable is solid. The wire was a bit thicker than I expected, but all-in-all well worth the money. I recommend it for indoor use only though...

So far , so good.

Had bought a clothesline from HD and returned it the next day. It would not hold 1 pair of jeans. This one is good , so far ! I have 2 pairs of jeans and other clothes on it...lets hope for the best !

Good but not for purposes I had intended

I am not good with looking at size/weight specs before ordering things. I wanted this to mount on my travel trailer to hold wet bathing suits/towels. Its heavier and larger than i thought. My husband has taken to just mounting it on convenient shelter covers each time we camp and removing it before we leave. Otherwise, Its fine.

Waste of Resources

I bought this thinking that as you pulled the line out and attached to the other wall it would lock in place but it does not, you have to pull enough extra line out to wrap around the base to pull it tight. Bottom line save your money and buy a piece of string.

1. It will only sag if really heavy items are put on it, like several pairs of jeans, I usually hang a pair or 2 of pants, and several shirts, without hardly any sagging.
by SmartShopper0721
2. It sags a little, but so do traditional clotheslines. It does have a locking mechanism on it so you don't have to use the full length. I use it for things I don't want to put in the dryer and for pool towels that can be reused.
by GAShoppinMomma
3. Yes, the cord wraps around a small piece to hold the line tight.
by kingdennis
4. You are able to wrap the line around the bottom of it so that it does not sag. My room is less than 20', and when I wrap it around the bottom, I do not have any trouble with it sagging. It really is worth it - especially for the cost!!
by GlensGirl
5. No it does not sag but it is not meant for very heavy items
by nylillady
6. You have a way to pull the line tight to prevent the saging.
by LoveMyRetirement
7. There is a loop to wrap the cord around which keeps the line taut. I have two of these and extend them full length with no problems. A little sag is normal. They really save money as compared to using a regular dryer.
by stonecutter1
8. there is a place to put line over to keep it from sagging very much.
by tuesmorn
9. Yes, there is a hook on the bottom to wrap the line around so it doesn't keep pulling out.
by 76trombones
10. Just like a regular fixed clothes line, it will sag a little under the weight of your laundry, but there is a cleat under the unit that you wrap the line around and prevents more line from pulling out. When you are done using the unit, unhook the end of the line from the wall hook, walk over and unwrap the line from the unit and the line retracts back into the unit. It's out of sight until next use. This is a great unit! I use mine a few times a week.
by SeaLegs
11. There is a plastic knob on the underneath side to wrap the cord around, that keeps it from pulling out any farther and the cord sags a little, but not enough to worry about.

1. 20 feet is the only length that have seen. Yes, it is removable. Yes, you can take it off of the wall. The clothesline comes with wall anchor screws (2) and a screw in hook.
by fakefudge
2. It can be removable as there are "key hole" slots in the bracket where it is scewed to the wall. But then, you'd have to leave the screws slightly loose. This would cause the unit to wobble on the wall - maybe wearing out the screws and/or the bracket quickly. As far as length, I think it is advertised as 20' - but I haven't measured mine. (I only need 12'). Hope this helps.
by kittiposte
3. I needed another 4'; so I attached a short piece of line on the opposite side tied into a screw eye and connect the two ends with a carabiner clip. The line attaches with two screws that fit into keyhole shaped holes, so, yes, you could remover it easily by just loosening the screws a bit. It comes with a hook to attach to another surface, (mine is in a tree) They also sell one that is 40' and they can adjust to any length short of the total on the spool.
by frizztop
4. It's well over 20" - plus it comes with a hook to screw into the opposite wall that sticks out about an inch or more. The clothesline itself is coiled up inside the case and cannot be removed from the case, but the case can be unmounted from the screws easily and remounted. You would just want to leave the screws in the wall. It latches onto the hook where ever you place it. I have mine across my deck.
by ChickMom
5. I just measured it: in fact, the line length is about 21'. What happens is that it you need a little bit of line to wrap around the "cleat" to secure the line. ...so you might take 4-5 inches to do that. So, usable length is about 6 out of the 12 extra inches (of the 21st foot). But, that's not a problem because you can jerry-rig a "splice" to lengthen a few feet or longer, I guess... Yes, it is mountable then removable in 1-3 seconds. THE SCREWS DO STAY ON THE MOUNTING SURFACE, THOUGH! The mounting bracket has holes and the screws have heads that are just large enough to allow for mount and dismount, quickly.
by Goobersmoocher
6. You just put two screws where ever you decide to mount it and it is removable ... and I'm not sure what you mean by 'latch' but the end of the clothesline that you pull out is connected to a hook, which is provided, that you put where ever you decide to mount the hook. Both mounts are removable.
by flbeachbum200485
7. it's going to be less than 21' since you have to wrap the line around the bottom to secure the tension. The assembly is riveted together so I don't thing you can replace the line. but you can't even buy a line for $9 the price of this item. very easy to install comes with screws & threaded hook. & is removable...you just slide the unit up over the screws & it comes off.

1. The round box holding the line is 5 1/2 inches, when you include the swivel mount it projects out 7 1/2 inches, but the box can be tucked back to any side when not in use. It swivels into the direction you mount the hook for the line of course. the whole thing is only 2 inch wide.
by RoseCustomer
2. h: +/- 6.25 in l: +/- 7.25 in (measured from metal mounting bracket through the center and then to the front) d: +/- 2.00 in thick weight: 1lb 4oz hard plastic construction, metal mounting bracket that swivels to accommodate your apt or home or garage laundry room, where ever.
by Goobersmoocher
3. 2" thick X 7 1/2" Tall X 8" Wide
by Cebucats2
4. The reel is about 9 inches in diameter and the 20+ ft. vinyl coated line (1/8" dia.) retracts completely inside automatically when unhooked from the hook supplied together with the wood screws for easy on and off.
