I am thinking about ordering this bike online with the "ship to store" option. It says that it will come in the box and will not be assembled when it arrives. My question is whether Walmart will assemble it if you ask for it before picking it up? I read a question from 3 years ago that said they would, but just wondering if that is still true? Thanks!

    • A. I bought this bike online; had it delivered to my home. It's very simple to put together. All you need is a set of Allan keys, a screwdriver and an adjustable wrench (you can get all of these at the dollar store, totaling around $4). Attach the front wheel, attach the steering bars, put the seat in, adjust the brakes and the two phillips screws for the gears at the front. About 40 minutes of assembly.

    • A. Yes, my local Walmart assemled my wife's bike for free. You go to Site-to-Store pickup when it arrives, sign for it and leave it to be assembled. Fast turn around!

    • A. Don't know if they'll assemble it, but I don't recommend doing it yourself unless you really know what you're doing. And you need to have metric Allen wrenches.

    • A. They will tell you that they will assembled it, but is not the same that it gets inside the box, is just that they will give you same model, that it was already assembled at the store. Was the point of too much drama with the assembly thing, in low expensive bikes, after all??? Thanks.

Great buy as a first bike. Its been almost a month and i am loving the color and look. Feels great after first ride and you will feel like to go on for couple more miles. It has both tilt and extend feature for the handle which adds more comfort for tall riders. No issues while assembling(< 20 mins). No issues while shifting gears. It has more comfort seating when compared to schwinn 700 c series which is $100 more. Costco is selling the best bike accessory bundle for $40 which has air pump, water bottle with holder, bag, bell, cable lock, front & rear led lights( Did I miss any?). It has a frame height of 17.5" which adds more comfort to riders > 66 in and <= 72 in. I did a lot of research for comfort bikes for beginners which are < $200, and this is the best I could find in market.

    Good bike for exercise

I got this to provide some exercise that would take me a greater distance than I could go in a normal walk and it meets this need very well. Bike assembly was harder than expected because one of the axel nuts that needed to be removed to put on the front wheel was frozen. My guess is that it was put on with a power tool and it took a couple hours to break it loose. Also the front forks seem to be spread to far apart for the axel length and I had to stand on the fork in order to provide enough threads on the axel for the nuts to get a good start. Once put together the bike works well and is easy to handle. I took the photo along side the Camping World 20" folding bike that I use with my RV, comparing the two I would say the Camping World bike is put together better and what I need for my camping travels but the Schwinn 26" keeps me from constantly shifting to maintain a higher speed. They both do what I need them to do.

    GREAT Bike For The Money

I first bought a Mens Link to convert to an e-bike. It was so comfortable to ride that I bought a Womens Link for my wife and also converted it to an e-bike. WE LOVED THEM before making upgrades; replaced the rear gear cluster for higher speed peddling, added a Walmart rear carrier rack, Walmart front basket, fenders and a cloud 9 "large butt" seat. All these upgrades cost $127. We now ride in confort for a few hours without needing to take a break. We use them for short-trip shopping and bike trail recreation/exercise (pack a meal, enjoy the scenery). Last year, the 1st season in use, I lost 3" in the waist and 16 lbs peddling 99% of the time and over 70 years old. By making them into e-bikes, we get 65 miles peddle-assist per battery charge, generally cruise between 10>15 mph (bike/rider about 300 lbs) and can cruise up to 34 mph (we stay under 20 mph for safety). The peddle assist battey makes most uphills flat. I have about 1000 miles on the 1st Link without any breakdowns, just light maintenance adjustments. GET A WALMART SCHWINN LINK YOU WILL LOVE IT.

This is a nice bike for the money. If your not handy at assembly and adjusting a bicycle you should probably buy from a bike shop. Mine came with the shifters installed wrong, a bad pedal, a derailleur needing adjustment and the bearings needing adjusting. Schwinn gave great service and shipped out new pedals immediately. The derailleurs are the lowest of quality but work fine if you do not need fast shifts and will last as long as any in the lower price ranges from bicycle shops. Much of the rest of the bike is as good as the lower cost shop bikes although it is hard to tell how good the wheel bearings will be. It does not have the sealed crank bearing like most shop bikes but the unsealed bearings seem to work and last as long and are easier and cheaper to repair. I am an avid rider for exercise and ride about 10 miles a day. This is a small to medium frame bike at 17.5 inches. I am 5' 10" with short arms and legs and it fits me great. Someone larger would probably like a bigger bike.

I have had this bike for about 2 weeks now and I have not been disappointed. The bike is easy to ride and has plenty of low gears for easier pedaling on inclines. I find myself using the higher gears most of the time and sometime wish I had a few higher gears for a little extra speed but for now this bike is just fine and I'm not planning on being in any races. I had a little trouble with the assembly and ended up googling a video on assembling a Schwinn multi speed bike and that was all I needed. As for the seat....the seats must be designed by the folks that sell the more comfortable padded gel seats cause this one limits my time on the bike due to it becoming uncomfortable. Switching the seat out for a much more comfortable one ASAP.
