The picture on Walmart site shows all black tires. However, a customer showed a picture in her review, and the tires were black with white walls.

    • A. It's mostly assembled, the book that comes with it will show you how to assemble it step by step - and the instructions are very clear. You will need to attach the handlebar, seat post, seat, pedals, front wheel and front fender. All very easy and no special tools needed. from the manual: Phillips head screwdriver 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, and 8mm allen keys (you can find the bundle near the screwdrivers in a store) adjustable wrench or 9mm, 10mm, 14mm, 15mm open and box end wrenches pair of pliers with cable cutting ability (although I didn't need to use these).

    • A. No it won't be unfortunately. When I was at the store to pick up my bike I asked an associate to have my bike assembled. Four days later it was done but turned out they didn't do it correctly. My husband had to adjust the brakes, seat, and wheels for me once we brought it home.

    • A. No... you need to get it sent site-to-store so they can assemble it for you. Or you can get it sent to your house then take the box to Wal-Mart but I think that's too much trouble.

    • A. I bought this bike about two weeks ago and have fully assembled it and just weighed it on an accurate scale. It weighs exactly 38 pounds. My other beach cruiser of a different brand and which doesn't have a rear package deck weighs 38.5 pounds and my mountain bike of a different brand weighs 42.5 pounds, so I don't think that the Schwinn is in any way a heavy bike.

This bike is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The paint is the most amazing color, and I didn't notice on the photo that the decals are peacock feathers. It's a good, sturdy bike. I was able to outpace my husband EASILY on the bike trail, and it rides so smoothly. The seat is a little wide - I found myself scooting forward on it (I'm an average-sized woman at 5'6" and 150 pounds) and my butt was a little sore, but this may also just be because I haven't ridden a bike in a long time. I think this would be great for bigger women that need the extra support, too. This bike is so beautiful, in fact, that when my next-door-neighbor saw us assembling it, she came right over to check it out. I told her all about it and gave her the tag that came in the box with the description and everything... about a week later, she had her own! Assembly was fairly easy... although my husband took care of most of it. There is a "free installation" coupon inside. Which, of course, you don't find until you've already taken it home and gotten it out of the box, and then who wants to drive back to Wal-Mart? But if you want free installation, I recommend opening it up in the store and taking advantage of that. It required some kind of wrench my husband didn't have on hand... allen wrench, I think? Anyway, Wal-Mart should have everything you need, but you should double-check materials before you get home. I think it lists them on the outside of the inner box (yes, it shipped as a box within a box... boxception?) I plan on getting fold-and-close baskets for the back, the kind that hold a normal brown-paper grocery bag. I don't foresee having any trouble fitting them with the convenient flat panel over the back wheel. One last comment - if you plan on hooking this to a bike rack on your car, you'll want to get a bike beam - like the Allen Bicycle Adapter Bar (sold by Wal-Mart, $17). Otherwise the standard bar, being built as a women's bike, is too low. This wouldn't be a problem if you're hooking it to the roof or something, but we put mine on a carrier that hooks to the back of our SUV and Prius. Schwinns are great bikes. My parents each have a Schwinn they've kept for over 20 years, and they're still in great condition with very minimal maintenance (I think my dad replaced one of the tire liners when I was like... 12?) I'm looking forward to getting some fantastic years of use out of this bike.

I loved how the bike looked and the fit it was comfortable but the brakes and gears are horrible. I brought this bike on a friday and returned it the next day. I only rode it for ten mins and that is when the problems started. The breaks were loud and not smooth and the gears would grind and get stuck in the forth one. I was expecting this to be an awesome bike but it was horrible. I say do not buy. It is not worth the money. It is only good for looks.

I bought this bike about two weeks ago. I fell in love with the color, the retro look and the comfort of the bike. I had it put together at the store and checked at a bike shop. I was told by them that it was a very cheaply made bike and very hard to adjust properly. I was also told that the Schwinn bikes made for Walmart are cheaply made versions and not of the quality you would expect of Schwinn. I have ridden the bike three times. I am not a heavy woman and I rode on a paved surface. The whole bike literally fell apart today starting with the gears, followed by the pedals falling off. As I was 14 miles from home this did not make me happy. When I finally made it home I took it to the bike shop and I was told that they could fix it but it was such a cheaply made bike, they could guarantee it would do the same thing again very soon. It went back to Walmart and I bought myself a much better bike, more expensive, but you get what you pay for. Please do not buy this bike, it is pretty, but rubbish.

This is my first adult bike and, I must say, I love it! I wanted something that looked like a cruiser, had gears, a carrier- and of course--it had to be cute. The color looks better in person; it's very vibrant. I had it assembled at Wal-Mart (for free), and I immediately received compliments as I left the store. The price is definitely worth it--especially since I was looking to purchase a Schwinn at a bike shop for $400. I bought a green crate for about $4.00 to add to the back of the bike. Side note: I had expected some type of issue when I got the bike. Therefore, don't expect that this bike will be in tip-top shape as if you got it from a bike shop. You just may get lucky, but for me, my brakes are squeaking. I don't think it's anything serious; probably a quick fix from the bike shop (or something I could do once I do some research) . Overall, the bike is a great! If you get the bike, I don't think you will be disappointed. This is a show-stopper. And of course, if it doesn't meet your expectations, you know Wal-Mart's policy :)
