Schwarzkopf
I love this brand of hair color! It has great gray coverage. It doesn't have a strong odor like a lot of other brands. It leaves my hair looking and feeling fantastic!

Extreme hair loss and damage
I had an audition and wasn't able to get in to see my stylist. Decided to "do it myself"as I had many times in the past with a different color. I decided to go with Schwarzkopf "ultimate flaming Red" for the first time as it was a new color. BIG mistake! After recommended strand test, I decided it was safe to use as the color looked great on tested area. However, after using this product as directed, I noticed a large amount of hair loss as I rinsed it out. The hair loss was continuous through the next week and severe damage to the ends to the point that I now have to get a large amount cut off just so I can make it look fuller and get rid of the damaged ends. I use professional hair products and am certain it's nothing other than Shwarzkopfs hair color. Fortunately, Walmart refunded the money for my purchase but now I have to dish out the big bucks to get it fixed. The picture below is after the FOURTH wash with hair still coming out in clumps Please let me know if anyone else has had this issue?

Really Impressed

I've been dying my hair for 20 years, and I dye it often. I've tried basically every hair dye on the market and this was one company I hadn't tried. I was looking to change my hair color again and missed having purple hair, ah the joys of adult life, so when I found this color I was excited. I figured the worst that would happen is I hate it and change it again in 3 weeks. I turned out to not only love the color - which despite all the odd reviews I've read does actually have purple in it with a really pretty red tint in the right light. I would like to add that ALL hair dyes have a red tint on my hair, I have a strong red in my hair naturally. The dye works extremely well, stayed in my hair for weeks longer than expected and I've only needed root touch-ups. As for the hair dye coming out during washing I want to give some advice to all the novice hair dying ladies out there ANY hair dye containing red of any kind will bleed in hot water. Cold water works best. Make sure the water runs clear during your initial rinse as well. A good shampoo also makes all the difference in the world. You can't blame the dye for your mistakes ^_^ mine only came out slightly with the first wash which I fully expected. The color did not fade. I will definitely purchase this product in the future and I'm already looking forward to trying a couple other colors from this company. The dye didn't damage my hair. The conditioner works well (leave it in for at least a minute) and my hair was shiny, soft and had beautiful color. Bravo to this company for their formula. I wouldn't normally do this, but because of all the negative reviews for a product that I actually feel doesn't deserve them, I'm going to upload a photo of the color 2 weeks after I dyed it. ^_^

I think I've found my home color solution!

I've been coloring my natural red hair as the grays started. My natural red color is a mix of strands of blonde, brown, and copper and it has been impossible to find a boxed color that is light enough, but not orange. The more golden or copper colors are darker than I wanted. I started with a darker color due to the above issue and this color lightened my hair a shade and it is probably the closest to my natural color in years. Another application or two will probably give me the shade similar to what I had as a child, which is pretty close to her color on the box. Please never discontinue this shade.

Love it

I really loved how the color came out. Very true to the box color. I had blonde ends and highlights so the dye fit in perfectly. The top of my hair was already dark so it stayed that way which I preferred but you can see the red haze at the top as well. I would definitely recommend if you have light hair or blonde highlights light I did.

Awesome color

I have tried multiple red shades from multiple lines over the last 2 years and this is by far my absolute favorite. This color is so beautiful and I get tons of compliments on my hair because of it. The product is easy to use and leaves hair soft. I have shoulder length hair so 2 bottles are best if doing full coverage. I do wish the color held on a little longer on the last 3-4 inches of hair but I have not found a red shade yet that does. Unfortunately finding the product and this particular shade are difficult so I always order a few at a time. I highly recommend the Schwarzkoph brand and colors.

1. I redo my color every 6 weeks like clockwork. I suggest some kind of color sealant that can be bought at beauty supply stores, it will extend your perfect color to that time period. If you don't use a sealer then you're going to end up coloring once a month to keep the purple looking purple and not red.

5. Every 3 weeks this color doesn't last long. Every time you wash your hair the color just washes out.

6. My dye lasts about 8 weeks, but I always wash in cold water and leave my conditione in while I finish my shower

7. You should probably redye it every 6-8 weeks to keep it looking fresh. That goes for most hair colors.

1. The color variations depend on lighting, but you'll have that with any color you use that isn't your natural color. If you're wanting a full on purple all the time I would suggest Splat or Manic Panic.
by acoffeejunky
2. It's purple not black like everyone says. Now the purple isn't bright or anything like that but it is purple .
by Mags
3. The color will depend on the beginning color of your hair. It is not black nor is it purple. If I color over black I get color that is only visible in sunlight. If I color over dark brown I get very dark brownish black with red based purple. the purple is not what you would consider amethyst! it is a red purple not a blue purple (think real grape juice in sun as red purple and blueberry stains as blue purple) it is more like a deep burgundy. My husband says you can't even tell it's purplish and not black unless it is in the right light.
by slyykatt
4. I only need to re-dye my hair about every 4-6 weeks. Basically just a root touch up because my hair grows fairly quickly.
by PixJen
5. The coloring contained in this package is black. The purple tint on the box is the advertiser's colors.
by CommunityAnswer
6. The shade 3.3 is listed as Amethyst Black, so just by the name you know it is going to be in the black family, with just a tone of purple and not a full on outrageous purple trendy shade. If you have colored hair & dryness already and are hoping for this gleaming tone you would be wrong... its just going to be black.

7. Every 4 to 6 weeks
