There is not much to say about this knife except it is fantastic. If you need a great all around knife this is it. I have already split some wood with it for kindling for a fire. It is just the best and believe me I am a outdoors kind of guy and have had many knives. This my friend is the best I have had for under 40 bucks. It is a little heavy but it will last. BUY IT
The Schrade SCHF26 is a great bargain for a survival knife. It has a 1/4 inch think spine , a very comfortable handle. While the type of blade steel (stainless) is not as durable as some other competing knives, the corrosion resistance, for my needs, more than makes for it. The only reason I gave it a four instead of a five star rating is due to the sharp jimping as I feel the edges could be rounded just a bit to make it more comfortable without sacrificing any of the intended benefits of the traction they provide.
The blade is quarter in thick.. That makes for a great chopper in the wild, camping... whatever you need. The handle is oval and fits my hand really good. There's a lanyard hole end of handle.. full tang. Now it is a tad heavy, however if you go to chop a good size piece of wood, baton, heavy work.. this will do it. An ordinary small working knife can't do these jobs. The sheath is decent. I haven't quite figured it out though. I do recommend this survival/camping/farm/yard... knife.
