I really didn't expect much from a LED TV that cost less than two-hundred bucks at 50", but I was extremely happy with the Sceptre 50" FHD LED TV when I turned it on!
The color saturation was great even before selecting 'vivid' in the settings. The picture quality was surprisingly good too. Whether I was watching over-air free TV in standard or high definition, playing an Xbox game or viewing streaming media like Netflix programming. The sound was better than average for downward facing TV speakers at 10w each. I like that there's the option to easily connect a sound bar via optical audio (not included).
The stand was easy to put on with the included magnetic Philips head screwdriver. Directions were fairly good and (2) AA batteries are included for the remote. The AC power cord is attached to the back of the TV and held with tape when shipped. (I found myself looking for it in the box at first.)
The on-screen menu is fairly easy to navigate and there are a lot of inputs that are clearly marked on the back of the TV.
You can mount this TV to the wall with a wall mount (not included) or add the stand, but you will need a wide TV table (stand) to place it on as the 'feet' are wide set.
Overall, this is an amazing buy a I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if needed. It's not a 'smart' TV, but really you don't need those features if you have a gaming console, Fire TV, Roku or similar. It's easy to add an over-air antenna like those from Mohu to get free over-air TV channels in your area too.
Definitely recommend this TV for college dorms, spare bedrooms, home gyms, or as your main TV as it's THAT good!
