I purchased this blu ray player about two months ago. Today it will not turn on. It's just dead. I will never buy another Sanyo product! It's ridiculous that this device didn't last two months. When I first bought it, the quality was mediocre at best but I could deal with it! Now, it will not even turn on... RIDICULOUS!

Sanyo ... OH NO... and Walmart products

I have had so many issues with Blue-ray Players that its not funny. I bought a LG first, it had so many glitches I was just unable to use it. Returned it to Walmart, so then got a Sony Blue-Ray and it was a disaster, would just freeze and could not unfreeze it unless you turned it off and wait for a few minutes. Now I have the Sanyo and its only been two weeks and I noticed all sorts of issues with it. It wont connect half the time to my wifi, it has issues of color blocks on the screen. I have issues that it wont connect to Youtube half the time, it says Im not online, when I was just watching Netflix. I also noticed the sound from Youtube is waving and sounds so bad you cant listen or watch anything. I found out from a distributor that walmart does not have the same type of machines as other places because they get sold cheaper parts to keep their prices lower. I was not surprised to hear this, because Walmart stuff is lower quality because things just dont last as long.

    Not The Greatest

I had my unit for a few months. Does a ok job on playback of DVD and Blueray. BUUUTTT if you like to know where you are in the movie all it can tell you is what track you just entered into the remote by forward or reverse... no actual scale to see where that movie you are. and when you try to do what i just did and use a friends flash drive to watch that all important movie he is giving you, it better be in fat 32 and not the new flashes they use on almost every computer now.... WHHAATTT thats right make sure he reformatts that drive to be able to be used by your new machine.... its in black and white in the manual. This unit supports USB Memory Stick with FAT16 / FAT32 fi le system. • This unit does not support NTFS fi le system. • This unit may not read USB Memory Sticks formatted on a computer. If that is the case, please reformat the USB Memory Sticks on this unit and try again. Please not that all fi les stored on the USB Memory Stick will be erased upon format.

I got this as an anniversary present for my husband thinking that I was getting a steal and that Sanyo was a good brand. Boy, was I WRONG!! We didn't even have it a week before it started acting up -- skipping with brand new discs, jamming, volume control, picture coming in and out. static on the TV, loosing complete volume, or the volume breaking up as if it was a cell phone where there is no service. The only way yo fix it is to completely unplug it from everything, wait a 1-5 minutes, and then replug it all back. NOT WORTH THE HASSLE!!! I am so ticked off. I would have rated this 0 stars if I could. I would have returned it, but by the time it was opened it was too late. I will never buy SANYO again. Truly has been the worst experience I have had in a very long time!

My neice bought one for me. I luv it. Easy to use remote. So I bought one for her.

    Practically worthless

We bought this 8 months ago. It was our first Blu Ray player, so I didn't really know what to expect. It played blu Ray discs fine. DVD playback was not so good. Most of our movies are still DVD, so that wasn't so good. We bought 2 blu Ray movies and found they would play but couldn't get any sound. Scrolling through audio options, the sound worked in Spanish and French, but not English. Checked the Sanyo website for updates and none were available. Emailed their customer service and received no response. Bought a Panasonic at Best Buy that was highly rated and have no more problems. Don't waste your time or money on this like I did.

    Buyers beware

This is by far the WORST device I have very had the misfortune of purchasing in my life, only reason in putting 1 star is because I can't put it at 0, do yourself a favor and spend the extra 45-50$ and buy a good one, this RUINED my Hunger Games Mockingjay BluRay, I had to physically open it to remove the disk because it refused to turn on or even eject wouldn't even let me atleast watch it, just fully died I only had it for 2-2.5 weeks

    It is junk

I bought this refurbished exactly a year ago and about two or three months in it started glitching. The sound was cutting out and the picture looked like it was skipping. I tried to get the people that deal with the care plan to respond but never got one. The glitch stopped so I left it alone. The player has been fine until now. At first I thought it might be the movie but it was brand new. There is white lines going across the screen and the sound is cutting in and out like it is skipping. It had at one point turned itself off. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DVD/BLURAY PLAYER!!!!
Ever see a blu ray player that doesn't even play blu ray? Now you have! It was a Christmas gift from my mom and at the time I didn't even own any blu ray. Regular dvds play great thought! Since then I've bought 5 (yes five) different blu ray discs that do not load. It "tries" to read it for about 10 minutes then says "disc unknown." it's terrible and I hate that it talks to you.

Plays discs, but that's about it

It wouldn't finish playing "Zootoopia" on blu-ray, it would constantly freeze at some parts & then at the same time every time, it would reset the disc. The firmware was the latest according to the player. The remote is tiny (about the size of a flip-cell phone, but 1/2 the weight), which was ok, but you can ONLY play discs via the remote. The manual "play" button on the player doesn't actually launch BD's or DVD's. This is the first player I've seen, ever, that the "play" button doesn't play on a DVD (on BD's it understandable, on BD "enter" is not equal to "play" but it normally is on DVD remotes/players/discs). So now it's useless because the tiny remote is missing.
