    Brilliant HDTV

Amazing image quality and great sound! watching movies and playing games through HDMI looks brilliant on this TV. If you're just coming from SD to HD the regular cable channels and SD quality pictures will look a bit grainy but this is the case with all HDTVs. But trust me... once you start watching movies and playing games in High Definition you will wish you made the switch sooner.

    Sanyo 26 Inch HDTV DP26649

This is a great HDTV. I have mine hooked up to an outdoor antenna because I like watching the free prime time shows that are broadcast at night. The HD picture is gorgeous. It looks good even when you view it from the side. If you have directv or dish network then you might be a little dissappointed unless you upgrade your service to their HD channels which cost about $10.00 more a month because the standard definition picture they broadcast looks bad on an HDTV. I'm not completely sure but it may have something to do with them compressing the signal. Standard defintion that is broadcast for free that you receive with an outdoor antenna looks better then the standard definition you receive on a satellite. My opinion. You also have to upgrade the satellite receiver from a standard receiver to a HD receiver. The only complaint I have with my Sanyo TV is I can't turn it up as loud as I would like. But the sound is good enough. It's easy to adjust the picture to a setting you like.

    Disappointing at best

Great picture and sound upon first hookup. Easy and quick set up. The TV worked great connected to HD cable for about 1 1/2 weeks and then the color started to bleed, reds and greens were overpowering and changing the settings didn't help. The USB photo viewer was not consistant from the start. Sometimes it would recognize the flash drive and sometimes it wouldn't. The display would say no device found even though it was the same device that had worked in it the last time it was on. When it worked the photos were displayed beautifully. The flash drive always worked fine in my laptop. Called the Sanyo help line to no avail. It was exactly 2 weeks old when we decided to return the set and bought a Panasonic. The Panasonic cost a bit more, but what a difference! Much richer colors, super sharp picture - no bleed. Flesh tones very accurate. And the photo viewer works much better and allows for greater control in how pictures are displayed. So far so good plan to post a review on it after a month or so.

    Fantastic TV for the price.

I haven't owned this TV for long (less than a week), but I feel the need to write this review because I'm just that impressed. This is the third HDTV I've owned. My other two HDTVs are a Sharp 32' (720p) that cost me $650 (on sale, normally $1000) and a Samsung 40' (1080p) that cost me $1300 during a Black Friday sale. I'd like to think that I'm pretty knowledgeable about HDTVs and that I have an eye for quality. Now, I'm not gonna lie to you. This Sanyo doesn't measure up to either of them, but it comes very, VERY close. So, why am I so happy if it doesn't measure up to my other TVs? Because I paid less than half the money (less than 1/4th in the case of the Samsung)! As for the specifics, well... The standard definition picture is nothing special, but that's true of almost every HDTV you'll find. The HD picture, however, is simply fantastic for the price. I'd rate it an 8/10, which is very good. The sound is very good as well. I honestly don't use the internal speakers much, but from the little time I've used them, I'd say that they outclass the Samsung but not the Sharp. Overall, very good. So, what are you waiting for? If you're in the market for a bedroom sized TV, this is the one you want. Do your research like I did, and you'll probably end up with this TV. Happy TV hunting!

    What a Deal!

After searching multiple internet sites and stores, this tv is the best deal around! The picture is awesome, the sound perfectly clear, and simple to set up and operate. I splurged on an HDMI cable (a good price also!), hooked up the DVD player in one simple step and have never looked back! Buy this baby! You won't regret it!

    More than expected for price...

I honestly headed to Walmart planning on getting either a Samsung 26inch or the Vizio 26inch, that's when I saw the Sanyo. What caught my eye first was how the picture quality for one appeared better than the Vizio and just slightly less than Samsung (hardly a difference). Then I saw the price and I was like SOLD. So set up was a breeze as it has all the hook ups you'll ever need from computer, usb, antenna and multiple video/audio in. I really can't say anything bad about product yet, but only have had it a couple days...will edit this if needed later but as of now I rate it five stars!!!

    Awesome and durable

Myself and several other soldiers pitched in and bought this tv to take on deployment to Iraq with us. After a year this thing is still great. It has been moved all over the states and then overseas and back and still works great. I like it enough that I will buy one for the bedroom when I get home.

    Decent for the price

Bought this about a month ago to put out on my patio, but the recommended mounting bracket did not fit this TV (but that's another review). Anyway, ended up hooking up the Wii to this for the kids to play and it works great, no issues. Can't beat the price for a 26" HD TV. Also, just read in Consumer Reports that it was rated a CR Best Buy.

    A great TV

I got this to replace my mother's old set. This has a very nice design. I prefer its matte black border to the more common bright, shiny ones on many TVs. I bought 2 $15 HDMI cables, and a Samsung $60 upconverter dvd player. Total damage=$400 and we see HDTV shows on cable, and DVDs look super on the TV. We are thrilled. Now that it's even cheaper, I am telling everyone to ditch their tube sets and get one of these! It has 2 HDMI ports, so it is easy to connect both your DVD "upconverter" and the HD cable box.

    Great for the price

I was looking for a good second HD set to go along with my big screen Pannosinic. I thought I would go with the Vizio or the Samsung.. The price of the Sanyo won my heart.... I have used it to show photos from my computer.. used it as a second set for NFL Football Sunday I recommend this for smaller rooms and straight on viewing, I think the picture gets washed out if viewing from the side... but it is perfect in price and quality for a second set..
