Loar designed the Classic mandolins of the 1920s-mandolins that set the standard for everything else that has followed. Saga designed the KM-300 Artist Series of Kentucky mandolins to incorporate many of the important features found in the most expensive custom instruments. Every mandolin in this series features the traditional Snakehead peghead design of Loar-era instruments and an adjustable truss rod. The 22-fret bound rosewood fingerboard features a modern-shaped extension and the compensated rosewood bridge assures perfect intonation.
