Instructions: . Painting Conditions: Use outdoors or in a well-ventilated area such as open garage. Use when temperature is between 50°F (10°C) and 90°F (32°C) and humidity is below 65% to ensure proper drying. Do not use on metal directly exposed to flames. Can't beat the price of Rust-oleum paints
Bought this high temp paint to paint some automotive parts that were getting surface rust. The high temp paint holds up well in the engine bay without flaking or chipping due to temperature. I would recommend several coats and if you have a high temp clear coat that as well to prevent chipping from bumping against it etc.

1. A hot plate would actually be considered what we call, direct heat, KG. We actually do not suggest use of the Rust-Oleum Specialty High Heat Spray Paint on this type of application as it will not hold up properly and would cause peeling issues. Perhaps contacting the manufacturer of the coffee maker could put you in touch with a proper solution! - Rust-Oleum Product Support 1

2. Interesting question. Rust-Oleum High Heat Spray Paint is designed for application to high heat surfaces like the exterior of barbeque grills and wood burning stoves. This paint requires curing at high heat in excess of 450° F. It cannot be applied to the hot plate of a coffee maker. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 6

1. ineed a black spray paint thats safe to use on the inside of a bar b q grill
by catfish
2. This is made for cars and to be applied outside or someplace with really, really good ventilation. If you look at the detailed instructions and spec sheet they specifically tell you (1) that you have to bake it to allow it to cure and (2) "HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION: By open flame, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. When heated to decomposition, it emits acrid smoke and irritating fumes. Contains solvents which may form carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and formaldehyde." So....if it isn't cured the first time you light your fire you could be looking at a pretty significant problem. Doesn't seem worth the risk.
