The Rubbermaid 7P70 Stackable Recycling Bin ways 7 pounds when empty.

they weigh about the same as a regular tote

Well mine hasn't... but it's outside against a wall. If left in the middle of the yard, it would tip over for sure, it's not very heavy.

They are pretty durable - haven't blown over outside on my patio!

They are the weight of a typical plastic trash can but you could put a cement block on top to keep it from blowing.

The labels referred to are the recycle labels that are already on the product when it is shipped to you. You can use a marker to write on that label.

I bought these to store recycle item(s) in my garage. Moreno Valley, CA, Waste management has free household hazardous waste, drop off recycle days, scheduled during a year. This is a great product to temporarily store these products until that day arrives.

Great for Recycle Storage

I wanted stackable recycling bins that were no wider than the Rubbermaid Roughneck Totes I had been using (because I keep them in the front entryway to my home). These are essentially Rubbermaid Roughneck Totes but with a different style of lid so they fit the bill.

The little doors allow easy access for me but don't swing freely so they deny access to my curious feline.

One of the lids came with an off-center recycling decal and the door doesn't align perfectly but it still latches.

Overall, I'm very pleased with them.

i ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE. I WISH I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN THESE LONG TIME AGO. I JUST REMODELED MY HOME AND BOUGHT 3 OF THEM AND STACKED THEM IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM. PLAST BOTTLES IN ONE, ALUMINUM CANS IN THE NEXT AND THE DOG FOOD IN THE BOTTOM. IT IS SO CONVENIENT. I WILL PROBABLY GET MORE FOR OUTSIDE.

Rubbermaid 18-gallon flip -door

Rubbermaid is a brand I trust. This is a convenient stackable storage unit - I only wish the green door hinged at the top instead of the bottom. The top will fit many different sized bases so I could go with a smaller one if I didn't want the unit so high. I will put my cans and bottles in this and my paper in a tray on the top.

Good price for a well made product

This is basically a storage container with a special lid. It works great and is perfect for the spot I need to keep it. I wish I could use normal garbage bags, but I have to use the big drum size ones. The lid is a bit flimsy too, but hasnt broken yet.

I bought three of these recycle bins. They are a great size and the container is durable. The problem I have with them is the green lid. It is VERY cheap, and there isn't any kind of clasping mechanism to keep it upright. I wanted to store these outside, but a medium gust of wind blows open the door, and lets rain, animals, and bugs in. If the door was able to latch shut better I would rate this a 5. As such, it is not very useful.

Size and shape works well for our area. The quality is less than I expected. The doors don't function well; don't close well or stick closed. Expected more from Rubbermaid.

Lacking Quality

In the discription and pictures of this item there are stickers that say "glass", "plastic", "ect.". And this was not the case when we received the items. They came with the classic "recycling" symbol already stuck to the door. In our case it was fine because we are only doing two categories, but a family with kids wouldn't be as ok.
