So good, Could make me lazy...

Researched and decided to try Roku for my sewing workroom since antenna wasn't being able to get sufficient signal there for my little dvd tv. Setup was fairly simple, requiring use of online account setup and finish. The one thing that aggravated me much and almost made me return this item was the requirement to list a credit card with no walk around option possible. None. I had no intentions of using this streaming device to buy anything else other than it allowing me to use a paid subscription to a channel I'm already a member of. Finally my kid suggested using a paid gift credit card which would keep a minimum amount of my choice which if ever hacked wouldn't put me out in the street. Did. The service is really good, but this one flap about credit card requirement made me mad since my ability to have choice was taken, I wish someone had written this in a review as an alert and also what my options. Glad I figured out what most gamer playing kids probably already knew, but we silver haired folks had no clue. Buy it. Just know the facts.

    Best streaming device ever used

I love the Roku it supports many channels including Netflix Hulu The TWC app (Time Warmer Cable) and all cable channel apps ( Inc A&E, DISC, TLC, HIST, and more). Very user friendly and fast no lagging !! It is the best $50 I spent in a year I have been paying double that for my cable TV so I dropped that when I got the Roku and signed up for Netflix ($7.99) and Hulu (7.99) best thing I ever did would recommend to anyone who wants to save money and loves to binge watch TV shows or movies!!!

    So far so good

So far it works great. I bought this for a spare room tv and it's super easy to use everything is as pictured and as the description says. Set up is so easy it's a whole 2 minutes. But my advice would be to check your hdmi port on the back of the tv.. (I didn't do this until I wanted to use the tv, my bad.) My tv has limited room for plugging in the roku streaming stick to the hdmi port but luckily roku offers a free extension accessory for me to use to connect the roku to the tv. This is a lifesaver and free and it was easy !! I typed in the link on the instructions and entered my serial number and mailing address and a week later it comes in the mail. Piece of cake. But a good tip to order it right away if u need one.

    We love the roku stick

This is our second roku stick. We have an Apple TV and a fire stuck as well. The roku stick is our favorite of the 3 products. It's got the best ease of use. We do not have cable and only stream, with roku we can access any apps we want. The Apple TV is a necessity for our Apple Music but you cannot stream from Amazon prime with it and Amazon prime has majority of the kids shows my daughter enjoys. The fire stick has confusing display compared to either of the other 2. I would choose roku over the other two compared.

    Love it!

I was already an owner of the 3500 model Roku stick which worked great but when I bought another TV and needed another Roku I got the newest model, the 3600, WHICH IS AMAZING! It is so much faster that the 3500! My shows load in seconds. I wound definitely recommend this product.

Pricey and Limited Live Tv Options

Although this is a good resource to watch some streamline movies, it lacks the ability to watch Live Tv. Their are very few station channels that enable you to watch Live Tv. Also in order tonwatch local and premium channels you must pay other subscriptions and fees. Cutting the cord on cable is still an option but I dont recommend doing it as you still need to suscribe to a service in order to gain acces to local and some extended channels as advertised on the box. In order to do that, all you need to donis subscribe to a service and have at leat one rental cable box in a room of your choice and then subliment other rooms with the Roku. Hence working around the need to rent boxes when you can now own this device. Hopefully this helps.

Works well, easy to set up

We have the Roku 2 box on one of our upstairs TVs, so I thought I would try the thumb drive size one in my club room. I chose the thumb drive model because we already have a lot of clutter around that TV, such as a Wii, Xbox One, DVR, etc. This model works just as well as the Roku 2, except that the built-in antenna is only about 1/2 to 2/3 as strong, so unless you have a strong wireless setup, you may get lags. That's the basis for the 4-star rating. We have 240 mbps Internet and a Netgear AC1750 is nearby, so we're golden. But before I moved that router down to the clubroom, we had problems. I almost took it back in favor of a Roku 2, but I tested the reception down there using our upstairs Roku 2, and the WiFi reception was only marginally better. By comparison, the Wii, cell phones, various laptops, and an iPad Air 2 show full signal strength. The Roku has the advantage of a dedicated remote. It's cumbersome sometimes, but it's still handy. If we buy another streaming box, it will probably be a Roku.

    Roku Streaming Stick, 3600RW

This is a greatpurchase, especially as it was on sale:-) It's my second Roku Streaming Stick - purchased it so we didn't have to transport the one in our living room to our bedroom. To be honest, I don't notice any difference between this version and the older model we already have. Perhaps because we use it only with our TV and not a mobile device, so no apps/etc. It's not faster, but we live in a rural area with middling internet speed. The remote isn't easier to use. (I wish it had a keypad instead of arrows, like the old Treos.) However, I love how small it is, the fact that it can be removed/moved when needed, how easy it is to set up and use. It's totally changed our TV viewing experience - all positive. (I do wish Roku would add MAX Go channel.) An absolute fan!

    Love Roku

I love my Roku! I would only recommend the streaming stick or ROKU 3. They are both easy to use without a lot of issues or glitches. With streaming on a ROKU I am able to watch what I want, when I want. I am able to watch quite a bit of free content. I pick and choose which apps I want to pay for and it is much cheaper than cable, since I am not paying for a bunch of stuff I do not want. There are interest apps that focus on one particular area, like music. And by paying for Sling, I get all the sports as well. During the off season I can cancel and then start it up again when the season gets started. I watch CBSnews, they are the best news app. ABC & NBC are way behind them in being user friendly. Overall, it feels like I have gotten to take back over my TV & Movie watching. Buying a ROKU was the best decision I have made.

    Stick it! Stick it good!

Working well plugged into wall power for us in a motel. WiFi here is ancient, tests at 5 Mbps down/ 0.5 Mbps up. Fortunately there seems to be no forced splash screen or encryption to work around. We're living in a motel for a few weeks between homes. Like fools we packed our two Rokus and put them in storage. Had to run to a nearby Wal-Mart and grabbed this stick after seeing the TV was set up for guests to plug in external HDMI devices.
