I bought a pair of these to put behind lined drapery panels that just weren't quite "lined" enough. They were crimson red, but when the sun shined through, the light definitely got through and gave a pinkish cast. I didn't want to put blinds on the window, so I tried these first... Instant gratification! There is NO light getting through these things. One thing I learned-- you don't even have to use the hooks that come with the liner. If your drapery uses clip rings to hang from the rod? Just put liner against the drape and use the clip rings to hold them both... SUPER easy, and much faster to "install." These definitely aren't pretty. They're plain, white, and kind of a vinyl shower curtain texture. And they're not really supposed to be pretty. They're supposed to block light. My drapes are pretty. I don't care what the liner looks like... and these are WELL worth the price (which is a bargain as well.) Two thumbs up! I'm buying them again for the rest of my windows...

This product does what it says it will do. I put it in my 3 yr. old sons room. His window is on the east side of the house, so he started waking at dawn. They really do keep the light out. In fact, now when he goes in to just play he turns the hall light on to see to get to his room. Nap times are longer now too. I did have to use a rod to put it on, I was putting it under a Transformer curtain which is rather thin. Since the black out curtain was so heavy, I didn't want it to rip the thin material the Transformer curtain was made from. It is true that there is a small amount of light that filters in from around the edges and top, but you are going to have that with just about every curtain. All in all, I am very glad I got these.

the product works well, however the sizes it comes in are terrible. they need to make it the standard size of curtain, they are either way to small for 1 panel and the 100 foot option is one piece so that doesnt work well for 2 panels.

Doesn't come with the magnetic strip down the center like my other ones do and no hemming on the sides. Look cheap but they do work for the purpose they are intended...blocking out light.

Best Blackout Curtains for the Money!

I purchased these blackout curtains for my 15 month old daughter's bedroom. As her bedroom faces west, her pink girly curtains did nothing to keep out the afternoon sun while she napped. I scoured the internet and stores for weeks looking for blackout curtains. These are by far the best value. I hung them on a separate tension rod so they lay flush against the windows which does keep out most of the light. I do need to tuck in the ends to make sure most of the sunlight is blocked. A little still gets though, however, it isn't enough to wake up my sleeping princess and it lets in just enough light so that I don't have to turn on the light if I need to check in on her. I'm sure if I spent more time on tucking in the edges I could get it darker in the room. I also noticed her bedroom is a bit cooler than it used to be. It is the smallest bedroom in the house and with the hot Florida sun in July beating down on it, any little bit helps.

If you're (like me..) not reading fully the longer describtion about the panel actually not being 54"W x 60"L but 2 panels, each 27"W x 60"L, hence order 2 of them, you end up with 4 long strips of 27" x 60" panels. I now have to sew 2 of each of the panels together in order for them to fit behind 1 of each curtain! A big pain in the butt, if you ask me! They should have offered the regular 54" width in 1 panel to begin with!!! I'm sure, once my 'project' is done, it'll be nice and dark in our room, but I still don't like having to making it work first instead of just hanging them up behind my curtains and be done!..

These are great. This product even included the little drapery pins necessary to attach them to the existing curtains. They block the neighbor's exterior light which was shining into my bedroom and keeping me awake at night. Adding these to existing curtains/drapes is much more economical than buying blackout drapes.

Great product. I attached them to pinch-pleat drapes using the pin hooks provided. I had to cut the largest panel size in half to fit my two-panel drapes, and they were easily cut with scissors and do not ravel. They completely block out the light and make my drapes look more expensive. They can easily be re-used when I decide to change my drapes.

I have a 6 foot by 4 foot window that needed blackout curtains because it was too bright for my toddler to nap in there. Because the size choices for the drapes are so weird, I would have had to use three of the 27 x 54 inch drapes. I ordered two packages of two drapes each and tried it out, but I didn't like the two spaces in between the three drapes, so I returned them. I then ordered the huge single drape, 105 x 80, and I cut it in half to make two drapes and sewed a pocket for the spring rod on the extra half, so I was able to cover my den window, too. I like the blackout curtains hung on spring rods because it sets them into the windowsill and blocks even more light than if I had attached them to the drapes hanging from the regular curtain rod. The blackout curtains are kind of tacky looking, but they are behind other drapes, so nobody will ever see them, anyway. I wouldn't use the curtains by themselves, but they do the job and make our den and our toddler bedroom dark and cool in the afternoon and evening, when the sun hits them directly.

The product DOES actually keep the light out like it's supposed to, but everyone who complains about the liners being too small are right. I bought the 54x80 liners that specifically say online, "54"W x 80"L fits draperies up to 50"W x 84"L" but that's definitely not true. My windows are about 48x78 and the only way to keep the light out is to not even attach the liner to the back of the curtain, but rather, get a seperate small rod to place behind the main cutrain. If you snug the smaller rod up against the window trim and make SURE that all of the liner is within the window area itself (not covering any of the trim around it) THEN it works pretty well. I'm thinking about adding snaps to the inner seams of the panels though (the middle of the window area) so they will stay together, because if they seperate at ALL, a LOT of light comes though. Overall, if you have windows a lot smaller than the stated sizes, or you have a decent fix, the liners seem to be pretty good. But if you can't come up with a fix or don't want to buy extra liners to fill the space, I'd go with something else.
