Star Wars Risk Game
I was very pleased with the Star Wars Risk. It had very clear, explanatory instructions and was very easy to play. It is also very accurate to the movie, and it has really neat TIE fighter and X-wing, B-wing and Y-wing game pieces. I kind of wish that the Millennium Falcon and The Executor were not flat, but if you get the version with them as actual game pieces, it is a lot more money. If you are a Star Wars fan, then I definitely recommend that you consider purchasing Risk. It is well worth the money. Walmart has the best price for it, even better than Amazon.
Awesome for gamers and non-gamers!
This game isn't really like RISK at all, and that is a good thing. It is quick to set up, and quick to play (30-45 mins). It is fun for my youngest kid, and my wife who doesn't even like to play games. But it is also fun for me as a real gamer. I suggest 2 tweaks to the game to add balance. I would make the storm troopers a +2 (except for the last two spots). And I would make the Executor cards to be able to allow that ship to move and then EITHER attack or drop off Tie fighters.
Star Wars Risk has some of the feel of classic risk but just enough to make it feel different. It's fast paced and enjoyable!!
Nephew loved game
Purchased this for my nephew for Christmas. Although it is not the classic risk game rules that he thought it was, he enjoyed it.
I played the game right away and it was fun
Star Wars Risk game
Challenging strategy game
Our family loves Star Wars and board games so Star Wars Risk appealed to us. Having never played Risk before, kids are just now old enough for more complex strategy games, we are finding the 15 page instruction book a bit intimidating but vow to stick with it until we learn all the nuances of the game. We are enjoying challenging each other in these Rebel vs. Empire battles using the tiny tie fighters and Rebel battle ships. There are 3 separate battles being played simulaniously so the action never stops.
For an older Star Wars Fan
I never played the true game of Risk, but this game was exciting and made you think strategically. I would definitely stick with the age guidelines, although my 9 year old beat me, there is a lot going on all at once. There are three battles going on and you have to manage them all. The rules seemed a little unfair that the Rebellion side simply needed to take down the Death Star, but the Empire had to destroy about 30 ships. However, it was a lot of fun. Make sure you leave at least 15 minutes to read all of the directions and once you start playing keep the direction handy. I think I might make copies of the directions for each player.
Star Wars Risk
if you are a star wars nut and you like the game risk, this is for you.
