Which is exactly what I was looking for! The Assembly was easy. And it works brilliantly when I tried it out! It has 4 wheels, springs, a sharpening bar below, and the catch is very handy for small to medium yards. Sadly i realized it wasnt high enough to do my dads yard because of all the terain bumps lol I will definitely use it for my own yard. Now to hunt for another one to get my dads yard and to do trimming. So awesome and healthier for your body to use. Ty! Ps: it looks bigger in first person pov then in picture ^-^

I have a TINY yard, and no shed or basement. I didn't want to keep a gas mower inside my home but had nowhere to store it outside. So I got this manual mower. It does and does not do certain things. It does NOT get every weed. It does NOT do hills. It does NOT work as quickly as a powered mower. What it does do, and do very well, is provide me with a convenient hassle free way to maintain my yard. I get my hill and any strays with an electric weedeater, and the reel mower takes care of the flat part of my yard. It is exactly what I needed and if you live in town with a smaller flat yard it will serve you well too, as long as you have realistic expectations of what it works best on. Also the grass catcher is unnecessary l, it fills up too fast and the mower spreads the cuttings wide enough to render it pointless. It does keep grass off your shoes, but I don't care about that. A little grass is definitely not the worst thing to get on my boots.

Old Gas Mower Broke, looked for a new alternative
    5/6/2016

    Customer review by TimL

When my old gas mower broke down, I was debating whether or not to pay to get it fixed or scrap it and get a new one. After finding out what I needed, I started looking into push reel mowers. I was used to a bag and saw a few but only a handful had bags. I saw some cheap plastic ones made in China but then saw this one, had a classic look, strong metal blades and a bag. A few reviews mentioned the bag didn't stay on well. Arrived pretty quickly, had it assembled in about 15 minutes. Got part of my yard done the first day before the rain came but after a dry day was able to get back. I had let my yard get a little long so had some trouble at first getting it going but after a few passes on some high spots, it looked just as good as if I had cut it with any other mower. I do have a few bumpy and sloped spots and hit some trouble with them and few tight spots which I typically can't get with any mower but things look just as good. Very light and easy to push, bag stayed on, only complaint is that the grass doesn't seem to get all in the bag, but that's OK because leaving the clippings can be good for the grass anyways

I read a ton of ratings before purchasing this mower. Here are a few things to realize, 1- this does not catch every last blade of grass it cuts- it's not a closed system- grass can fly at will as you cut, but it doesn't leave it in clumps, stop every few rows and pull some the grass to the back of the bag and keep pushing. 2- For all the people who say it misses rows- I think you are cutting your row off- look at the blade and not the wheels as you mow, traditional mowers your blade spins outside the wheels I think people are only looking at the wheels. By doing that it will leave a nice mow hawk strip- but i realized this right after- This mower the blade is inside the wheels, just line your wheel 1/4 into your previous row and boom no more missed strips. Yes- it makes it hard to push if your grass is long- just back up and go back at the same spot a few times. This is generally for smaller yards, which mine is, but I'd even consider a bigger yard now. Get this and a good weed eater for the hard to reach places and your set!! Don't listen to the haters- my lawn looks amazing, and also have real expectations of what this can do and what it can't before buying.

    • A. I had ordered mine from Wal-Mart & the only part that needed assembling was the handle. It was really simply made, The grass catcher basically hooks at the bottom with a strap on top & the handle was four parts with big screws (no tools were required). The hardest part was pinching the bottom of the handle to slide holes at end onto bolts on mower to attach them.

    • A. I think it ships from another non-Walmart warehouse. It wasn't available in my area at all. (I think the sales of these types of mowers are not worth the shelf space to Wal-Mart.) It wasn't hard to assemble at all. I think all you have to do is attach the handle.

    • A. I can't give measurements (my yard isn't that level) but at 2 "notches" away from the last one, the grass appears roughly a half inch long. There were some "lumpy" areas of the lawn where it was kicking up dirt; so I can only imagine you could (with enough time and energy) nearly remove your lawn altogether in the lowest setting. I recommend setting it half way and start there. If it's still too long, lower it and go again. Better to trim away a bit at a time than to have to say, "oops".
