Not to good
I ordered for my diabetes, I was almost out of it, for testing my sugar levels, I ordered the strips about 2 weeks before it actually came, I didn't order it to come 2 weeks later originally they told me ( WALMART ) 3 or 4 days that's ok even a day or 2 more is fine not 2 weeks, I called Walmart I waited for over an hour for them to answer, the person told me definitely tomorrow, tomorrow came and left no strips, so I called back finally I got a man that seemed to know what he was talking about and he told me the next day and he was right, thank god because I was down to 0 strips, just in time

Great product that doesn't require a doctor to prescribe or insurance company to reject. Plus it is cheaper than other strips out there that require prescriptions.

Love these strips and so inexpensive.

I love these strips...so inexpensive. I've been using glucose strips since 2003 when first diagnosed as diabetic. A 100 day supply of strips then cost $130 or $59 for me after insurance. That was $0.59 each strip. In 2014 I saw a TV ad for ReliOn from Walmart and decided to try them. I could get the same 100 strips for less than $18. That's $0.18 each WITHOUT insurance even being involved. I ran tests using the ReliOn and my more expensive strips each day for awhile and found glucose numbers to only be different by 2 or 3 numbers. That was close enough for me! No more going back to my doctor to renew a prescription each year and no more having to turn in a chart having to prove I was using the strips on myself, which I had to do. Very few "mis-fires" with these strips too. AND I can get them at any WalMart around the country even if I'm on vacation and need a refill. Easy and Simple. I love it. The meters are also inexpensive and I've used mine 7 years now.

Great buy

My insurance stopped paying for my diabetic supplies. I spoke with the pharmacist at Walmart and he recommended the ReliOn brand. I have been using them for 6 months and the work great. The price is very affordable and they are always available. I would highly recommend this brand.

Relion meter/test strips - best value anywhere

I am very glad Walmart took the initiative to market their own reasonably-priced glucose test strips and electronic meter. Other companies offer low-priced meters and insanely expensive test strips. I very much appreciate Walmart offering a low-cost alternative - it is a true public service and they deserve 100% market share in this case.

1. no prescription required.
by mp12
2. No prescription needed. They are behind the counter at my local store, not in the public area. Just ask the Pharmacist. You can order them online too.
by LG007
3. No. And at around $35 for 200 strips a month who needs insurance at such a great price?
by tony8gj
4. You don't need a prescription to buy this product, but you might need one if your insurance requires it. Best to check with them first, to see if they have a brand preference/restriction if insurance coverage is important to you.
by Fast
5. No. They are over the counter. Depending on how you do your taxes, these are a deductible expense.
by claudia8811

8. No. No prescription is required.

9. You don't need a prescription to buy the ReliOn Prime test strips. When someone uses a prescription from their doctor it is usually so their insurance will cover the costs.
by mainelythankful
10. No, there is no Rx needed for strips. Also there is no Rx needed to buy Walmart's OTC insulin, both daytime and night time, Novolin R and Novolin N. The N works the same as Lantus, The R works the same as Humalog, but it takes longer to work but lasts longer afterwards. That OTC insulin is a true miracle from Walmart, $25/10 ml vial which is like 1/4 the cost of the other Rx.

11. NO-- over the counter and online requires no prescription BUT govt. and insurance providers may want you to have a ''prescription'' brand/ doctor advised/ repetitive paper work if you use over 1 strip per day-- i went with the reli-on brand to avoid the ''jumping through hoops'' rules and still save money over my expected copays!! reducing stress is important as well with glucose levels.

by tony8gj

11. YES -- check the outside of the --sealed-- box PLUS the strip bottle / container inside has a date on it. try to buy with several months to a year ahead dated for freshest strips if you only check infrequently. i buy them on line and always seem to get at least 6 months ahead on my orders so i trust the online service so far.

1. No, it won’t. Only for Relion Prime meters.
by sayasoe
2. CR2032 battery is in the tester, not the test strips.
by LG007
3. The Relion prime uses CR2023 button batteries.
by tony8gj
4. 3V lithium coin cell, CR2032.
by NotSoOldMan
5. If you are asking about ReliOn meter, it takes CR2025 3v Lithium batteries
by Cassey2
6. The meter uses the popular CR2032 which is available at Walmart and drugstores
by Fast
7. I use MAXELL CR2032 or PKCELL CR2032 batteries. These appear to work for me.
by iloveallanimals1
8. the meter uses CR2032
by hebroots
9. a commonly found [round / flat] 3volt CR2035 [i think] --it is in paperwork. about $4-5.00 for a brand name and you need one about every 800-1000 uses with most meters. most stores and walmart jewelry counters stock them-- $dollar stores sometimes have cheaper / shorter life batteries as well. meter has a flashing code i think when you are close to losing power [about 20 tests left to warn you ] very frequent users should stock a spare battery in advance and stick it in the carry pouch.
