A moneys worth buy
Assembly is very easy. Pay attention to the big wheel “white rim” attachment holes, those matter where they go. I'd set up the back tires last because it will make assembling it easier to maneuver. Big wheel is not heavy at all. 4 stars because overall it's a sturdy big wheel. Love that the seat is adjustable but I wish it was taller because after a while it digs in the middle of my kids backs. Also the flag pole itself comes off a lot. As the kids ride around with the bike I find myself constantly picking up the flag because it flys or falls off due to vibration I assume. It's just a flag so egh. That's it!

Unbelievably bad.
Unbelievably bad. The Radio Flyer company should be embarrassed with how poorly this product is designed and how poor of quality some of their parts are. Assembling this toy was an awful experience. The red caps on the star nuts for the rear axle pop off and won't snap back on. At least the metal part of the star nut will never come off, they got that part right so your toddler doesn't lose a wheel riding around a corner. The hub caps for the big wheel come out of the box warped and the snap fits on them do not stay snapped. The pedals are supposed to be installed with a hammer to snap them into place, but even a tapping them on with a rubber mallet to install them caused the snap fits on both plastic pedals to break leaving me little faith they will stay on long term. What a really poorly designed snap-fit like that with such brittle plastic. Give me a c-clip, another (better) star nut, drill a hole in the axle and give me another screw...something other than those bad snap-fits...the pedals are kind of an important part of this toy. Punchouts in the blow-molded seat are loose inside the seat, which you can't get out so they just rattle around inside. The handlebar doesn't fit fully into the receiving slot in the steering column and the handlebar cover plate won't sit flush even after tightening the screws because the features on it just don't line up. The bolts are cheap soft steel so the heads strip easily while you try to tighten them to overcome the alignment issues between parts. I gave up after struggling to install the handlebar cover plate, took apart as much as I could and will be returning this to the store. Kids toys can be irritating to assemble but I've never struggled like this before and had so many parts be warped, not line up with each other, or break while following the instructions. Unbelievably bad. If anyone from Radio Flyer is listening, forget the replacement parts. How embarrassing is that to have to send replacement parts for your product because they break just trying to assemble it? Have the director of product development or marketing build one up and send a fully assembled replacement for a change. Wherever you're making these parts, they're doing a crappy job with product design, quality control or both. I look forward to scrambling to find a different birthday present for my 4 yr old in 3 days.

Happy kid! Mom and Oma approved

Chopper tricycle for my 6 yr old grandson. He loved everything about it except he couldn't get traction on hardwood floor lol. But once outside he has had a blast with it. He is petite and it fits him perfect in the middle setting on the seat. So it should last him a while. Also his mom likes that its low to the ground. So when his is going fast and having a blast she doesn't worry.

My son had an older, used big wheel and he loved it but it broke so we decided to get him this one! The price was what sold us and we've had other Radio Flyer toys that are still going strong. He absolutely loves it and the flag sealed the deal for him! Easy to put together and works great!!!

This toy will last is a long time as he grows into it. I like how it is low to the ground in case he falls. He loves playing with it. We bought both our children his and her big wheels.

SOLUTION TO SLIPPING WHEEL

SOLUTION TO SLIPPING WHEEL. With a half tube of silicone caulk you have a rubberized wheel with what ever pattern you want. I scuffed the wheel first to give the silicone caulk something to hold. Please let the silicone caulk dry outside for about 12 to 24 hours because it smells bad when curing. My son now loves it.

Radio Flyer is still great! Who knew?!

Verified purchase

My son loves this trike. Very sturdy as well. Initially I was concerned with some comments saying parts didn't fit well. I noticed they just have to be properly positioned when being put on, and everything aligns just right. Just takes a little time, and detail is all. The reason the tire slips on the unit is it needs to be rode outside once and it will smooth out the plastic ring around the tire making it easier to grip to the concrete, or even indoors. Overall, this is a stellar buy. Comes with a free 2yr warranty through Radio Flyer as well. So no need to purchase the add on warranty from walmart. Will have this one for a long time to come. Thanks Radio Flyer.
