Avoid the hassles of long cables and wires using the RF-Link AVS-5811 5.8GHz Audio and Video Transmission System. The system can seamlessly telecast and broadcast signals via a 5.8 GHz wireless transmitter. It also prevents interferences from crowded 2.4GHz ISM band applications used by cordless phones, wireless LAN's and Bluetooth devices. The 5.8GHz wireless video transmitter lets you select up to four channels to send audio and video signals to TV anywhere up to 300 feet. It sends and receives strong video and hi-fi stereo signals that can penetrate even through walls and other obstructions. With a built-in IR remote, the long range video transmitter allows you to remotely control the audio/video source in other rooms. The IR repeater transmitter is compatible with wireless surveillance monitoring systems and you can connect the transmitter with a camcorder to use it as CCTV device.

Bought from Wal-Mart online and shipped to store

First I must say that I was very skeptical of this product after reading various things online however, it meets my expectations. I have the unit hooked up to my Directv and hid it in the garage and the received hooked up to my tv in my living room. This is being transmitted through a floor. I have had no problems after setting it up. No interference by any devices at all. It is extremely easy to hook up however the wireless transmitter is a bit tricky. However, it isn't nearly as difficult as you might think - at least with Directv's receiver. I can literally point it at the receiver and it switches the channel without a problem. If I had any cons is that the only connection available is RCA and stereo sound is probably not possible - I don't know as of yet. However, if you are using it like I am, it is a great, great purchase and can really hide a lot of wires, etc. BTW, you can buy additional receivers and not need multiple boxes!!

perfect for my needs

This product works just as advertised. I had previously bought another a/v sender/reciever that worked on the 2.8 mhz frequency but I was getting too much static from my modem. I found this product and Walmart had the lowest price. I actually find that when using a remote control though this device, it works better for some reason than going directly though my cable box. I love the fact that I dont have to pay for another cable box and also, I can put the signal into any room in my house, not just the rooms with the cable wired to them. I am very pleased.

Better than expected

From reading some of the reviews, I was hesitant about buying this item. I hooked the TX out in my detached garage to transmit security camera images to my security camera system in the house. I hooked up the RX to the camera input on my security recorder. (about 60 feet from the TX and through 3 walls) I adjusted both antenna to where I thought they would be looking at each other and set the channels the same. Powered them up and to my surprise I had a picture. The TX (transmitter) does change channels periodically for some reason. When this happens I change the channel on the RX to fix it. I've had it for 2 weeks now and haven't had any problems. I thought it quit working the first night but the next morning I found out the RCA cables (some that I had) weren't making good contact. Changed the cables and that solved the problem. As of yet I haven't got the IR mouse to work though as it would be nice to be able to switch between cameras. The Unit comes with TX, RX, RCA cables, power adapters and the IR mouse.

Beats my expectations.

This was a great purchase. An easy setup. Plugged the transmitter into the back of my DirectTV DVR and the receiver into a LCD TV in the bedroom. This uses the RED-WHITE-YELLOW RCA style connections that 99% of TV's have available. Using the DirectTV remote in the bedroom TV allows ALL the functions of the DVR to a TV that is TOTALLY unconnected to a DirectTV cable connection. The picture is great quality. Some fine tuning of the paddle antenna's is required to get the very best picture. Although I haven't tried it yet, it would seem that I could take a small tv anywhere around the house that has an outlet and watch cable Much cheaper than renting another cable box from DirectTV.

It was exactly what I needed

I wall mounted a small flat screen TV in my kitchen & did not want to run cable to it. I attached one transmitter to my living room Direct TV receiver & connected the other transmitter to my new kitchen TV. I now can watch whatever is on my Direct TV receiver in the living room & I can change the channel from the kitchen as well. Great picture & sound. It was exactly what I needed.

Won't be sorry

This product exceeded my expectations. My wife was skeptical but it impressed her. Within 5 minutes of receiving this device, I had her TV in the kitchen receiving satellite picture.

Cable Sans Wires

We wanted to view cable in our room but did not want the bulky cable box connected to our flatscreen mounted on the wall. It works well!

pretty good product

Being a computer tech I always do my homework before I either buy a new product or upgrade an existing one. My old transmitter and receiver were constantly malfunctioning so it was time for a replacement. This is a middle of the road item, not in function or performance but in price. It does what it says it does and does it well. While perusing the reviews I came across one other person who recommended this product with a codicil; use this with a 1 amp power supply. Well it just so happens that the old p/s which is run in conduit happens to be the same specs and is one amp to boot. Have been using this for about two weeks and so I very happy with it. You could spend more(well you can always spend more) but why would you?

Strongly recommended

Fills a specific need that I had. If you do not want to pay your Dishnet and their like for another receiver and rental, go for this. Loved the added feature of ability to use the set top remote at the remote location. Found a good use for my other wise idle emergency portable LCD TV. Used or less than a month, if it stays this good, this is a great product. Make sure to locate the IR transmitter in front of the set top remote.
I had the product up and running 5 minutes after I took it out of the box. The transmitter sent to a reciever about 50 feet away and in another room.
