Quaker Oats 1 Minute Oatmeal!

Verified purchase

I have always been buying it from local Stores. Due to the current situation I am not going to the super markets for grocery shopping. So I ordered it from Walmart.com. I use Oatmeal not just as a hot cereal, but in many ways in my every day cooking. It is very healthy, nutritious and easy to prepare!

This is a replacement

Verified purchase

I eat oatmeal cold with fruits cut up over it and cashew milk poured on. My order was placed along with other items, including three jars of pickles. The carrier must have broken the pickles because when the package arrived, the oatmeal and pickles were missing and everything else were covered in dry pickle juice. The other items were repackaged (apparently by shipper) in a non-Walmart carton and totally unusable. Walmart was nice enough to replace everything else and reimburse me for the pickles. I had to find alternative breakfast food while I waited for my replacement oatmeal, but it's here now and I can eat healthy again.

1. I do not add sugar. The flavor is just sweet enough by itself.

7. These are Steel Cut Oats that have been precooked, so you have a faster cooking time. I like the 30 minute Steel Cut Oats better as I use the following method and don't have to watch them to make sure they don't over cook. I bring water to a boil in the microwave, pour the boiling water over the Steel Cut Oats which I added cinnamon to and stir. Place a tight fitting lid on the pot and leave overnight. In the morning you will have cooked Steel Cut Oats. Some people may say this is not firm enough for them. If you are afraid of this only leave the oats in the water for a few hours checking after every hour until it is the consistency you like. Place in a tightly covered dish in the icebox and they are good for about 4-5 days. Already cooked and ready to be heated and eaten when you are in a hurry. You can also put them in a thermos with hot water and leave to cook.

8. Steel cut and takes longer to cook. Definitely NOT the quick oats type

9. These are regular steel cut oats that takes about half an hour to cook according to the label. I usually leave them on the lowest heat and meanwhile take a shower or check email. When I'm back to check on the oats, they are ready or almost ready.

1. Hi, Kay. The product shown is not considered gluten free. Not all of our oatmeal products are considered gluten free. Even when gluten is not part of the ingredients, the grains used in our oatmeal products could be grown, harvested, or stored with other gluten-containing grains, and therefore may contain trace amounts of gluten from those other grains. However, Quaker does offer gluten free oatmeal in 3 varieties: 18 oz. Quaker Quick 1-Minute Oats, and Quaker Instant Oatmeal in 10 count Original and 8 count Maple & Brown Sugar. Be sure to look for the "Gluten Free" label on the front of the package.
