Starch for Sculptures
As an art teacher I use this without watering it down to create paper mache sculptures! It's a quick drying and economical way to make art using recycled materials like newspapers. I highly recommend it!

Great for paper mache

This stuff is amazing for making paper mache. I HIGHLY recommend it for crafts. It's easy to wash off hands and surfaces, but works wonders on holding your craft projects together.

Great product at great price

My daughters needed liquid starch to make some crafts (including silly putty). I ordered this starch for pickup at my local Walmart store because they didn't carry it in the store. Within 2 days I was able to pick it up and my daughters loved it. The price was excellent and the quality is exactly as expected.

Fantastic Product!

A few years ago I switched from the canned spray - (like Niagara or Faultless, etc) starch to Sta-Flo liquid starch and the results are amazing! I do not want to go back to can starch. Liquid Starch has a crisper look, less flaky and after you dilute, it goes a long way. I typically mix 1/4 cup or less per half gallon. Great value!

Huge size for price

Got this item for my daughter she makes slime with it. Looked at other sites but the price is unbeateable here plus you save with shop and pick up at store. Great product at a great price.

1. I don't think that would be a problem if kept covered I have had my bottle for awhile and use small amounts only, for crafts. No problems thus far.
by Lisa
2. Had my first bottle over 2 years, still worked fine for what I needed, dried clear. Suspect you could test it on an item before you use it and see what happens. Another idea is to call the manufacture, usually an toll free number on the container.
by DeeDee
3. NO. MIX WITH WATER TO PREFERRED STRENGTH. CLOTHES LOOKS LIKE DRY CLEAN PRESS.
by Dee58
4. No it doesn't get old. Shake the bottle to re-mix if concerned and bottle has sat for a long period of time.
by jackie
5. No, this product does not get old.

1. Yes , you use as paper mache . The instructions are on the label . I have never heard f it being used as glue , however
by Pegmal48
2. I used it to make slim. I haven't tried it to make paper mache. We also used it to make a plastic bubble.
by joyfuldebdeb
3. You may have already found a way to make papier mach that you like. However, buying this starch would be an expensive way to make papier mache. The traditional method is to simply mix a thin solution of wheat flour and water and dip each strip of newspaper or newsprint (the paper without any printing on it) and letting the sculpture thoroughly dry before you paint it. The currently popular craft use of the Sta-flo starch seems to be making "slime" with clear Elmer's glue mixed with Sta-flo starch. There are a lot of very good videos online with instructions for how do this.

4. Absolutely! It's a great medium for building with newspaper. Don't water it down though or it won't stick properly. It can be painted after about ten layers have dried.
