First let me explain that I got this at $39 in the store, as apposed to the $69 online. YAY for me. I was randomly walking through the Halloween section and in the corner were these boxes with these trees all nice and pretty listed at $39. I pulled out my phone and the WM app and saw it was $69 online so I purchased 2 of them. It comes in a small box and you have to assemble the tree. It took less than 5 minutes to do mostly because the hardest part is the vertical stem. The lights are standard holiday lights. To be honest, the majority of the 150 lights are in the stem. In the green leafy area I would say only about 20-30 lights. No big deal but the top part seemed a little dim when first plugged in whereas the vertical stem of the tree was very bright. I bought an extra string of 20 lights that I added to the green area costing me a whopping $1 extra. This did the trick, and now the entire tree from base to crown is well lit. My best recommendation would be to spend the extra $1 on an extra string of add-on lights. The actual base was surprisingly well put together. It is made of what seems like molded drywall. The base is not plastic. Underneath the base is a small compartment where if you wanted to hide a “special” present like a diamond ring or something, this would be great. It is not a large area but if you had something “special” and did not want anyone to try and find it then put it under the tree, literally! Overall great item for the price I paid ($39). For $3 extra I got the 2-year warranty. ***This picture is of the tree before I properly fanned out the green leaves and before I added the extra $1 string of lights. You can see where the top area is a little less-bright than the stem.
