Ahh...the much awaited for DualShock 3. How we all have yearned for its vibration in our finger tips. This controller was definitely what I had hoped for. Its only draw back is unless you have a newer game you won't get the full affect. In fact, you won't get any vibration at all. Some older games may have an update for it, but with all the new games coming out it's not really that big of a dilmma. All and all this controller is a little pricey but well worth it.

I wanna say that this controller is hands down one of the best for the playstation 3 console for one it works really well for all action games as well as most shooters like say for instance Killzone 3 now if your an xbox player and you are migrating from the xbox 360 over to the ps3 then you might have some trouble adjusting to the controller especially with the analog sticks to where they are placed on the controller. Now i do have one small problem with the controller it is the trigger buttons L2 and R2 because of the way they are shaped it makes it hard to use them because they are sloped outward rather than concave like an actual trigger but what i did is i bought the * Real Tigger buttons * to make feel and work better especially when playing call of duty or killzone. Anyway this one of the best controllers out there but iam not saying that it is only one, but it is one of the best. I hope my review has helped you.

I've played with both the DualShock 3 and the Sixaxis. The DualShock blows the Sixaxis out of the water. There is a definite diference between the two. I always seem to have problems with the sixaxis controllers (sticky x button, etc..) It is much more worth it to buy the DualShock then the sixaxis.

Nice wireless controller, upgraded from PS2, currently features upgrades from the original (i.e. a little stronger and less parts that can come off, although the less parts can hinder it if you need to take it apart and put it back together). The reason it doesn't get better ratings from me is because it's priced WAY too high and breaks too easy, altough as I said, it is being built stronger, just not strong enough for me. *I get mad and throw the controller...occasionally...if you don't do this, don't worry about it breaking.* I have broken about 5 of these...

I bought a PS3 on April 20th, Today is November 23rd. That's 7 months I am 23 years old an mostly work all the time so use is limited. My reason for not reccomending this is not the PS system but the controller is messing up, the analog L3 scrolls down when not wanting to scroll down.... Good thing I bought the lifetime warranty.

First of all, this is a great controller, with one exception. Button response is great and the dual shock works very well. Although, my only complaint on this controller is that it almost feels like I'm going to break it when I'm in an intense game. It doesn't feel quite as strong as XBOX 360's controller but as far as function and style goes, I prefer Sony's PS3 controller. I may be slightly biased though because I've grown up always owning a Playstation console. If you're a casual gamer though, then don't worry about a thing but hardcore gamers may need to be careful.

Still The Best PS3 Controller

I have tried literally every brand of wireless controllers, from Logitech, Dreamgear, Nyko, Intech, and more - Sony's Dualshock is by far still the best. It is certianly worth the extra investment. I am an avid gamer - typically a minimum of 3-5 hours a day. So comfort and function is a top priority for me in a controller and Dualshock delivers. I recently purchased these replacement Dualshocks since the analogs were going out on mine. They lasted since I originally purchased them when the Dualshock 3 was released, so they lasted a very long time! Highly recommended!

I am new to this and I am planning on getting a ps3 in the next day or so, so I was wondering can you play while the controller is hooked up to the ps3 with the usb cable?
by Kit22 11/11/2009

  • A. Yes you can, but make sure your controller has a connection to your ps3 first then plug it in or you will have to just wait for it to charge and wont be able to use it for a bit. I plug the controller into my computer to charge while im playing so i can still sit away from the tv or ps3.

  • A. Sure, just like yopu I have the same doubt, and I can resist to play in the first moment when I conect it. If your battery is low you can attach the USB cable to continue playing meanwhile you charge your dual shock, the only issue is that this cable is a little bit short to enjoy tha game with freedom, I recommend that buy a long USB cable if you are thinking in play for more that 10 hour, the best is play and when finish attach the USB cable to the controller and let it charging for a hour and that it.

  • A. Yes, this is what you have to do when your controller is out of juice and you need to charge it in the middle of a game. You can play while it is charged and disconnected, or charging while it is connected.

  • A. Some games require a second controller in order to have more then one player playing the game. Other games like Family game night allow you to share a controller. Depends on what games you want to play I would say!

  • A. It might be a good idea, because you could charge the extra controller and have it for a friend, or when your main controller dies, you could easily change it to be the main controller and keep playing
