This suitcase is lightweight and durable, weighing in right at under six pounds. It’s compact and the perfect size for a carry on. It meets most airlines’ carry on restrictions making it ideal for me because I refuse to check in a bag. Because I don’t check in bags, I often need a carry on with a little “give” and “wiggle room.” This suitcase definitely allows that, as the durable, thick material expands and allows me the ability to make use of every single inch of the suitcase. Also, because I don’t check in bags and pack everything in my carry on, organization is essential. This suitcase is a dream. There are pockets galore which make organizing and separating items a cinch. The inline skate wheels on the suitcase make zooming through the airport a breeze, and the handle is durable. The suitcase is well made, basic black, lightweight, easy to maneuver, and has zippers that glide easily. I’m impressed with the quality of this suitcase, and I look forward to taking it on road trips, domestic flights, and international flights!

Light weight, built well, and a joy to use!
When I seen the Protege 21" suitcase I just had to have it. It is very lightweight only a little over 5lbs. I loved that it had wheels no more carrying my bag. The wheels are sturdy and they glide smoothly. It has a telescoping handle that you can adjust to the height that is right for you, it also has a padded handle for lifting into the vehicle. On the front of the suitcase there is two zippered pockets that fold out for papers and passports. On the back there is a pocket to put a card with information on in case the bag gets lost. When unzipping you will notice that the zipper pulls each have a ring that fits together this is to put a padlock for more added security. Inside the lid of the suitcase there is a mesh pocket it is the same size as the lid. There is two straps to strap your clothes down so they don't move around when you are transporting the suitcase around. Once you have your clothing strapped in then you can use the push button snap to remove clothing. If you need more room unzip the expansion zipper and it will give you two more inches. This may be a smaller suitcase but there is a lot of room. I am very happy with this suitcase, I would recommend it.
This the right size to use as a carry on when you are flying. And you also can use going on a trip in the car or RV. It pulls up so you can pull it with you and don't have to carry it leaving your other hand free. S. Sturdy do go out and buy one you will be glad you did.
Great except one thing.
Great piece except I'd have to agree that the inside strap stitching lacks reinforcement. Worried it might get worse with time. I will be returning.
Worked great this weekend
I used this over the weekend and it was actually pretty roomie. It did not flip or turn on me while wheeling into the hotel. That is so annoying when you are trying to walk and drag your luggage behind you and it wants to turn over on you. I wish it was a little bigger but if your not packing a lot of stuff it’s a good one for a weekend trip.
Budget Friendly Carry-On
Overall, I think this a good piece of
luggage for a few basic, national trips. I
like that it is budget-friendly, perfect
carry-on size, and very lightweight.
However, it does not seem to be a durable,
long-lasting product. If you are a frequent
traveler or plan to check it in often, it is
not for you. With the way baggage
handlers might toss it around at the
airport against other luggage or on the
baggage claim conveyor belt, I don’t see
this luggage lasting multiple trips. The
exterior cloth material is decent and well
stitched. However, the zippers are of a
thin, cheap build. The luggage walls are
also a bit flimsy and not very well
reinforced or padded. I wouldn’t put a
laptop or valuable electronics in it for this
reason, but it’s perfect for clothes. With all
that being said, the great news is that
there is a 5-year warranty in case of
defects during normal use.
It has all the standard functionality and
ample number of spacious pockets for
baggage of its class and size (also has
telescopic handle, skate wheels…), and
will do the job just fine for an intermittent
traveler who will personally handle it with
some care. Because it is very light and
built just well enough, I do plan to use it
as my main carry-on baggage for local
US trips or road trips for the upcoming
Light carry-on but durability is questionable
This is a typical starter carry-on bag. The outer fabric is a thin canvas like material that feels like it could be susceptible to tearing with a couple good throws at an airport. The retractable handle feels very flimsy as if it will break off in your hand if you twist your wrist. It has a couple of storage pockets on the front and inside.
It's a two wheeled carry-on. It is not a spinner bag. This would make a good bag for a kid or college student but probably won't last more than a few years.
Good small light weight suitcase
The protege 21in upright suitcase is comparable to any other light weight luggage I have owned in the past. The outside material seems durable enough to hold up for a carry on for a plane or bus. Although I love the looks of the innner material lining it seems to be of less quality. The suitcase itself has several convenient zippered pocket areas for storage for smaller items ,a small side pocket that I haven seen on my other small suitcases, and a zipper to expand in size by approximately 1 or 2 inches! It also has a long zipper inside bottom that I haven seen in other small suitcases. Im not sure what it is for but I used to to put my dirty clothes in then zip it up to separate them from the clean clothes. The pull up handle works good and the wheels work well with a smooth glide. The fact that it is only 5.8 lbs also makes it a great weight for a Carry on for a plane flight where weight is limited.
Basic suitcase-not heavy duty
Great size, wheels are great and plenty of zipper pockets and a zipper expansion. The handle pulls up and down, but seems sticky and not strong. Entire suitcase is lightweight, and would be good for road trips but I’m not sure how it would stand up to baggage handlers at the airport. Probably best for weekend trips in the car.
Probably not the sturdiest suitcase out there
I have received this suitcase as part of the Spark Reviewer program.
This suitcase is just ok. The outside shell seems adequate enough, but only the airport baggage personnel can prove that! The interior lining is very flimsy, almost paper-like. I feel it would tear very easily. The suitcase is the proper size for a carry on. There are 2 pockets inside - one small and one larger - although the zipper in the larger pocket in the one I received is sewn crooked (see pic). There are 2 pockets outside - one small, one large. There is an expansion zipper for overfill.
Overall I give this suitcase only a 3 star (would be more like 2.5 stars but that is not an option). It is a decent size with adequate storage, but I feel the construction is lacking.
