I had one before
I had one before but I let a friend borrow it and he left it on the burner for way too long at max and the bottom bulged out. He kept it and said that it is still usable but doesn't look the same so here is my second one :) Great price/quality ratio.

You get what you pay for.
These Presto canners are inexpensive and their quality shows it. Expect the bottom to begin to bulge out after about the fourth time you use it. Presto tells me that, that's a sign that it's gotten too hot. Well, I've never run it out of water and happened a second time after purchasing a new one. They function, but kinda scary when the metal on your canner begins to bulge. Cheap aluminum. Hasn't exploded off of my stove yet. Wrote the company, but they didn't replace. Cheap product.

i canned some chilli here and it has turned out great you heard all the jars popping in the lids so you know they are sealed

Great product. Light-weight.

It worked wonderful and was easy to use. I've canned the old fashioned way with my mother in laws canner. This was so much faster. Cut time in half.

First batch of pickles great

Wanted an induction usable pressure canner for a while and this seemed reasonable compared to the multi hundred dollar devices else where. Ran first batch of pickles today as a water bath process and worked great although it took a while to get to a boil on my induction stove all turned out well. One extra purchase was a tempered glass lid for this process that helps it get boiling and kept it there over medium setting without splashing over or steaming up the kitchen. The one that fit perfectly was a Nordic Ware 12 inch Tempered Glass Lid for $22 bucks available here on Walmart - Model 11212. See Photo. The rim of this lid has a lip that fits down inside the mouth of the canner and a flat section that covers the top edge, sort of an "L" on its side. The canner worked fine, no evidence of warping, I'm sure those experiencing that severely over heated it some how. Hard to do when it's filled with water! Gave my Ball induction canner away.

Great canner for beginners, GREAT value

Recommended by SB Canning. GREAT canner for both water baths and pressure canning. Very easy to use...pressure canned for the first time green beans. Very, very happy with this product!

Excellent Pressure Canner

This pressure canner worked great for us, and we just canned 142 one pint jars of yellow fin tuna and yellow tail. The 20 jar capacity allowed us to get it done quickly and efficiently.

A Quality Product as always

Purchased this product for the wife, she loves it, now she does not have to go out and borrow her friends canner, which was a hassle when both were canning at the same time, looking forward to many years of use from this fine product....

CANNER + JARS = GREAT VALUE

This was the best value I could find on the internet. Better than Amazon.com even. Item shipped free to my front door....how great is that? I learned something the hard way and will share it with you, in hopes that you won't suffer the same loss. I was canning tuna and set-up the base to my turkey fryer out in back yard in order to process the fish outdoors, rather than stink up my house. Problem is, the bottom of the canner gets too hot on this type of burner and then bulges out on the bottom. It was not a pretty sight....canner tipped sideways due to the bulging bottom! We immediately shut down the flame. Had to make emergency trip to try to find another canner at a time of year when everybody and their uncle has bought them all....empty shelves! Finally found a smaller one and had to pay two prices for it. Next day I found this on Walmart.com and bought it. The dozen pint canning jars were a bonus and arrived in A+ shape....not a single broken jar. And what did I find in the bottom of the canner? A warning flyer stating not to use canner on turkey fryer base because it will cause the bottom to warp and possibly explode. This is a great canner. Can stack two-pints-high.

Love it

I love the size of the canner. It's big enough to hold 7 qts at one time and even though the length of canning for pts is different you can also add them to another layer. (It's better to over-pressure can than to under pressure can.) The ONLY thing that I would love to see added, if possible, is an alert signal if the pressure has dropped below the proper level. That would save having to keep an almost constant watch on the pressure gauge for either 75 or 90 minutes. Consumer Reports rates this canner very highly. Also, I purchased a replacement seal to have on hand JUST in case the original seal fails. They are generally not available in stores, so an ounce of prevention... The purchase of an additional rack is probably a good idea when you purchase the canner for that additional layer of jars.

1. The 01781 Presto® pressure canner is made of aluminum and will not work with an induction stovetop. The 01784 Presto® pressure canner has a stainless steel base that will work with an induction stovetop. We do recommend contacting your stove manufacturer to see if canning can be done on the surface, as not all stovetops can handle the weight and heat of the canner. If we can assist you further, please feel free to contact us directly at 1-800-877-0441 Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Central Time. You're welcome to email us as well.
