This is for the full size. I had an adjustable bed before at a little more than twice the price. This time I decided to give this one a try. I will list the pros and cons here. Pros: Strong and seems durable. Motors are extremely quiet. Relatively easy to assemble. Note: When assembling the foot motor you must raise the foot part of the bed up. It will remain in that position until you hook up the remote and lower it. This is so you can attach the pins easily to the piston. This also leads me to the cons Con: The wired remote has no battery backup so if the power goes out there is no way to adjust the bed. This is the only problem I can see. Also this company's service department is fantastic. I was short one wing nut to secure the mattress retainer. I called and after giving my name to a machine I was almost immediately connected to a representative. He not only offered to send me the wingnut ( he actually sent several along with some regular nuts#, he also advised me of the correct headboard brackets to purchase. I received the items in a couple of days. I also ordered the correct brackets # Pragma Bed 2-Pack Headboard/Footboard Bed Brackets# which I installed and then attached a Mainstays Full/Queen Metal Headboard, Black # also purchased from Wal-Mart and a great headboard as well#. I can not recommend this company enough. If you want a good adjustable bed at less than half the price of competitors and don't mind a wired remote # which has a very long cord and clips right on to the frame) get this bed!

Delivered in great shape 3 days later. Looks intimidating when you unpack, but it's pretty much assembled. If you can unfold a card table you can do this. Motors are very quite, range of motion is great and smooth operation. It's a bare frame (not upholstered like rip off furniture stores) but who cares? A bed skirt could be made to hide by cutting out center and using hook and loops. I'm going to build a wooden base to match our bedroom, but I digress. Haven't slept this good in years! I am so happy! Would buy again or recommend in a minute! Bought a cool gel 8" memory foam mattress on same site and it works great together. Mattress was a cheap $140 each too.Thought I was going to shell out $1700 to furniture stores but got 2 twin XLs for $530. They even include hardware to bolt together to make a King! So 2 mattresses 2 frames for $810! Furniture stores would have cost 3 times that at cheapest!! Most likely much more!

I am very happy with this purchase. I have 2 other adjustable beds in other bedrooms. This is the quietest one. Very smooth operation. The head raises higher than I thought it would. I purchased this with the headboard brackets because it was cheaper to buy them with it than without. The brackets did not line up with the screws in my headboard though, still it was $20 cheaper to buy them anyway. The screws on my headboard are, from the floor up, 4" and 6" centered. The bed is HEAVY. In my case, I was able to push the bed up to the headboard against the wall, and it is heavy enough that the HB does not move at all. The head adjustment of the frame is not affected by the HB leaning on the wall at all. Thankfully, the bed comes in 2 parts and I was able to assemble this myself. If either of my other 2 beds should break for some reason, I would absolutely replace them with this item.

Heavier than I thought. Lifted it to the 2nd floor by myself. But much safer to have a 2nd person help. Assembly took me longer than it should have. More detailed labeling of the motor shafts, levers, pins and other parts would have helped a quicker understanding of the steps. Both leg and head elevation are important to avoid acid reflux and avoid back/neck pain -which could be a side effect of sleeping in an upright position without adequate pillow support to hold the neck steady during sleep. 10 year old Old Coil mattress works well. But will try memory foam to see whether it's any better in conforming to the contours of the bedframe in an elevated position. Great product for individuals suffering from chronic acid reflux. Will surely extend overnight undisturbed and pain-free sleep by at least a couple of hours and thereby bring back normal quality of life.

We bought two twin xl size to use with our twin xl mattresses that have air inserts. We haven't slept this well in our entire 16 yrs together. His breathing is better while sitting up a bit and my fibromyalgia/myofascial pain has been cut about in half. Sleeping on my back with my legs and head both raised is like sleeping in the most comfy recliner ever. We hardly watch tv in the living room anymore and have joked we should just get two more for the living room instead of buying recliners. Seriously, this has no heat, no massage, and the remote is corded..so its basic.. but we are two fairly large folks at 245 and 290 (he's 6'3") and this is working out just great. I think if I had one wish list item it would be for them to have wheels. It's difficult to make twin beds that are next to each other to make a king, I'd love to be able to just roll one away from the other.

My husband is used to sleeping in a nearly seated position. I prefer to sleep prone, all on one flat level. Will this bed adjust to meet both our needs?

    • A. Contrary to other's opinions, the queen frame is indeed made to adjust individually. That's how ours works. Contact the company for a dual remote kit, and don't attach the locks that keep the head and feet raising together. You'll also need a split queen mattress; We bought a 13" memory foam model from Brentwood Home and it's just right. PragmaBed claims 13" mattresses won't work but as long as you don't leave the head/feet in the up position it works fine. If you do happen to get out of the bed, the mattress will just pop up in the middle when it straightens out. No big deal.

    • A. If you order the "split king" then yes, each side operates independently. Your husband can be a sandwich and you can be a board. You'll need split king matresses (2 twin xl).

    • A. They make a skirt especially for these beds. They attach with a velcro strip that sticks to the top of the bed frame. Also,Ebay sells some with elastic that attach all the way around the top.Attach a skirt with a headboard and these beds look as good as good as any other bed.

    • A. There are moving parts obviously from the adjustability, so I dont think so. I was going to create a skirt in the form of a curtain and velcro it to the non-moving portions of the frame. This could be achieved by getting a skirt, cutting out the part that goes over the bed, and adding pieces of velcro to the remainging "curtain" and the frame. I suppose ties would work too.

    • A. you could probably rig up a bed skirt but not the normal way that fits under the mattress.. I might suggest the tape on velcro or some 3M double sided foam tape to attach the skirt directly to the bottom and not over the top of the bed rail that stays in position.. whatever you do don't try to attach it to the moving parts or anyplace it could come in contact.

    1. is there a gel/foam mattress that wii work best with frame. 2. Ifcan a gel topper be used w/memory foam mattress. 3. i weigh 200lbs. What thickness will work best? 4. Bottom line I want a twin or twin xl fully adjustable frame w/ a cool foam mattress. What will work best and why? 5. I have had several major surgeries with more coming. in the future. I have a modest pension. I will pay for what I need, but cost is definitely a factor.

    • A. Any memory foam mattress shoudl work. Im 300 and went with a 10", and it worked fine, though I am opting for an adjustable air number bed as I like to vary the firmness. Go with that plus a 3-4" foam topper and you'll have the absolute best bed for comfort and adjustability. Otherwise you'll want to preview your foam mattress to make sure you like its level of firmness.

    • A. It doesn't require a base. We bought an 11" thick memory foam mattress with gel top incorporated, and it seems to work perfectly. The whole cost with mattress for a twin XL was about $600, less than half the price of the stuff that you find in stores. Definitely worth it.

    • A. I would suggest that you get the 8 inch mattress that is what I got. the mattress does not expand to full height it is a nominal 8 inches and you will get somewhere above 6 inches if it is a good one and maybe slightly more than 7 if you are lucky. One thing to note this is not a hospital bed although it is very close to one if only it had a couple features. First problem you might have is the mattress will not be attached to the frame so a topper is probably not a good idea as it will slide around.. They really need to add a set of wide 8 inch tie down straps to hold the mattresses in place. second if you are ill enough to need side bars or use it to get you out of bed and not just get you more comfortable then this is not your best choice.. as I said it is very close to a medical bed but it is not a medical bed.. the price is very good though if you find it discounted.. If you are strong enough to get out of a flat bed.. this will be great.. and also it can be raised to help you a bit .. but a medical bed raises to 90 degrees and basically gives you a bit of a shove out.. if you have help this will also be a good choice .. however its better than a flat bed if you can find a way to attach your mattress to the frame..

    • A. No. You may place the mattress directly on top of the bed frame. My mattress is a 3 year old latex. It works very well. It flexes and unflexes to follow the movement of the bed frame. I tried the memory foam. I didn't like it because of the sinking into the foam. Sleeping on the latex is much like sleeping on a regular spring bed, except that it's very quiet, and flexes easily. By the way, I have a motorized Pragma twin XL, and I think it's great.

    • A. Hello John, If you want further clarification on my below answers, you can call us toll free at 1-855-977-2462 and a customer service representative will help you. 1. Any memory foam or latex mattress between 8" to 10" will work with this frame. 2. I would need more details to give you an accurate answer about the gel topper. How thick is the topper? How thick is your mattress? What is the gel made of? 3. Typically, any size memory foam mattresses would work for you. The size is a personal preference. 4. Take a look at the "Everyday Bed in a Box" we offer on walmart.com. See the below link. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Pragma-Everyday-Bed-In-A-Box-Pragmatic-Adjustable-Bed-Head-and-Foot-Multiple-Sizes/26603153?findingMethod=Recommendation:wm:RecentlyViewedItems This bed is fully electrically adjustable and, since cost is an issue, you get the bed and the mattress together at a cheaper price than you would get if you purchased them individually. 5. I'm sorry about your situation. Pragma beds are often bought by people in your circumstance because we have the cheapest, but highest quality bed on the market. We offer the biggest bang for your buck.
