I sell on an auction site (ok it's eBay) and buy my items from several other online auctions. Many items come without power plugs... This is where this unit comes in to play. So far it's played the role I need and helps me insure that my products work as they are suppose. Because if this I've actually increase my buying because the items I buy I get for cheap because they have not been tested, they should buy one of these, probably get more on their auctions! Well worth the price paid!!

Walmart's Item Description is WRONG
It clearly states in the item description on the Walmart site that this adapter can be used for "Many laptops...." that is the reason I purchased this item. So you can imagine my confusion after I ordered the item online and received it because the first thing I notice on the item packaging in BOLD, UNDERLINED, RED PRINT "NOT FOR LAPTOPS". Actually, it is printed TWICE on the front of the package. So I had the hassle of returning it to the store then taking my business else where to purchase the item I already thought I was buying. Inconvenient but I found it more frustrating when I learned other people have complained of this very same problem and Walmart has obviously done nothing to correct the information on their site. It is not advertised incorrectly by the manufacturer because they have made it pretty clear on their packaging that this charger is for Tablets & iPads. Be aware that if you are buying if for any other device you are doing so at your own risk. Do not go by the information on this site.

Purchased a total of three of these to power VoIP phones for our remote workers. This adapter was considerably cheaper than the vendor's own model, and it also was a bit less expensive than comparable adapters available elsewhere. Though we don't use it, the USB option is a nice extra that you don't typically see on universal adapters. I can't speak to long-term reliability because we haven't owned them for long, but I don't have concerns about it.

1. Depends on how much power your Dell uses. Take the voltage of the input at the Dell and divide by the watts. You will get the current needed. 1300 ma is 1.3 Amps. At the maximum of 9 volts, you multiply 9x 1.3 and get the maximum wattage of this device at 11.7 watts. I would imagine that the laptop needs more than that. But do the first equation above to find out for sure.

2. No, your Inspiron 1535 uses a 19.5 volt charger rated at either 65 or 90 watts. It's battery pack is either 11.1 or 14.8 volts. This charger would not have the correct adapter end to fit your laptop. It is also not powerful enough to charge your battery pack properly.

9, 7.5, 6, 4.5 or 3 volts (or USB port). It delivers a maximum of 1.3 amps (1300 ma), but only gives what the device pulls (as long as the device doesn't exceed 1.3a).
