I am happy to share with you that my cat Jay Jay has been taken off the insulin. If his blood glucose remains stable for the next 6 months, he will be in full remission. If you read this, I encourage you to invest in this feeder. It can save you lots of other veterinary-related bills (i.e. Insulin alone is $160 not to include the $30 cost for each monthly blood glucose test, etc.). I will keep you posted on how Jay Jay is doing between now and May.

We purchased three of the units, our three dogs, two large and one small. The little one got it right away, and the two big dogs took a week to get used to the sounds of the door opening. It took a week of getting them acclimated, but they are nomming like they have had them their whole lives. If your dogs are overweight, this is a good unit to purchase for many reasons, not the least of which is allowing them to spread the food out over the day. My dogs were free feeders, but as they have gotten older, they are more glutenous. My only wish is a unit with a slightly bigger food bowl for large dogs.

I got one of these from my vet when my biggest fur baby was in a university weight loss study. Because of a brain injury that made daily life challenging, I was having trouble complying with the study guidelines-keeping 3 cats sequestered and on a schedule was too much for me. The PortionPro Rx was such a blessing. I added 2 more for the other kitties who were also getting chunky. Now all 3 look GREAT! My fattest cat went from 19 pounds to 12. I'm now fostering my mom's cat indefinitely, so he's acclimating to our 4th feeder. I'm thankful for the peace of mind the feeders provide. I don't have to worry about rushing home because they're going to be hungry or remember if they've already been fed. A regular measured dose helps them happy and fit. Also, I don't think I have ever experienced such impeccable customer service as I have from Dr. Hexter and Warren!
