Controls are bit weird but once you get used to them its smooth cruising

I have been a fan of the Pikmin series ever since I played the original Pikmin when it was released on the Nintendo GameCube.

I felt that the original game was interesting to play but features such as a limited time frame to accomplish your objectives made it a little hard to fully enjoy the game as I would have liked.

But "New Play Control: Pikmin" is an improvement from the original, even improving on minor details throughout the game. Because it has been designed specifically for the Wii, you can only use the Wii remote and Nunchuck to play.

The controls may at first take some time to get used to but they make it easier to play and control the characters.

The story for the game is the same and those who enjoyed playing the first Pikmin will no doubt enjoy the new format of the Wii version.

Of course, out of all the Pikmin series this one is the harder one for newcomers to the series to enjoy playing. So it would be good to look into it further before they decide to play it.

But if you can get this game at a cheaper price then I would definitely recommend this game.

A nice improvement!

This is NOT a new game. This game originally appears on the Nintendo Game Cube.

But don't let that stop you. If you've never played it on the Game Cube, then you are missing out.

Pikmin 1 on the Game Cube was great. Pikmin 2 on the Game Cube awesome.

I believe this is a remake of Pikmin 1, and all that has been added is a new way to control the game - ie wiimote and nunchuck.

Anyway, great game. Grab it if you've never played it. And if you have played it, the wide screen and new control setup may be a good thing.

My family LOVED both 1 and 2 on the Game Cube.. as a matter of fact, may pull out #2 for the GC. :)

Fun Game

being unable to purchase this game in stores was a hassle, thank god for online shopping!
You can not buy pikmin in any store 'new' anymore because there was only so many made by Nintendo because it is a remake of a game cube game, finding it somewhere pre-owned (for wii or game cube) is about impossible if that tells you anything!

This is a fun strategy game, I would recommend it to anyone who likes challenges.

Being used to playing it on the Game Cube I had to adjust to the Wii controls. Once I did that everything was GREAT!

nothing has changed on the game and i am very happy to see this because i love this game. i just wish every could be controlled on the will controler instead of pointing the wii remote at the t.v.

Exactly the same

Pikmin is an enjoyable game. The game's controls were nicely, although the game does have a steep learning curve. All in all, it is a good game for $20.00

Decent

the game is a real challenge, graphics are great. took a little to get use to the controlls of the pikmin but i think i'm getting the hang of it, just have to figure out how not to get so many of my pikmin killed. once i do that i'm sure i'll be addicted.

picking pikmin

I had just seen this game in stores and thought this is GREAT! i have this game for GC, and loved it. what i'm thinking though is that you could line up your pikmin with the 'C' stick also very useful in dodging your enemy's projectiles, so i'm interested in what button they have desided to use for this ability. Ps the 'C' stick is also great for surrounding your Enemys with out having to kill your finger trying to throw them on to the monster.

Even though this game was released on GameCube since December 2001, it was a disaster. And it still is today. The controls get infringing and tiring so this game would only be suitable for true gamers.

Makes no sense as a remake.
