The Perfect Bottle
These bottles were exactly what I have been looking for! I just had my third child a few months ago and wish I had had these bottles starting with my first. I am someone who is very conscious about using Eco-friendly products when possible, I have cloth diapered all three of my children and even use almost exclusively glass storage for our food at home. So naturally, I have always wanted glass baby bottles. Sure, plastic bottles are now made without BPA, but I am still weary of using plastic. My baby is exclusively breastfed/bottle-fed with breast milk. She latched right away with these bottles and the anti-colic valve worked wonders, we have had no issues at all with gas or fussiness. Huge win! And if that wasn't good enough, these bottles are extremely easy to clean, with just four parts (the bottle, nipple, a screw on ring that the nipple fits through, and a dome shaped protective lid to shield the nipple). The three main pieces also assemble very quickly and easily; just push and secure the nipple through the white ring, screw it on, feed your baby. We have not had any trouble with leakage either. The sides of the bottle dip in, making it easy to hold. It is also compatible with my breast pump so I can pump directly into the bottle. The only downside I can think of to these bottles (and anything that is glass) is the fact that glass is more breakable. These however, seem very durable and I have not had any breakage, even while toting these around town in a diaper bag and with a 2 and 5 year old who love to help me feed their little sister. If I had not received these for my honest review, I still would have purchased them, hands down. Thank you weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with these perfect bottles!! Love this bottle!
We love the Philips Avent Natural Glass Baby Bottle! My daughter is 16 months old and breastfed so she's very picky about bottles and nipples. I was surprised that she immediately took to this one, even wanting to carry it around with her when it was empty. She liked it so much I actually sucked on the bottle's nipple to see what all the excitement was about and it does have a very soft, movable feel. I'm assuming that's what she loves about it. I like that the bottle is contoured and it fits comfortably both in my hand and in hers. The anti-colic vent on the worked great! The fact that the Avent Natural has only the nipple, bottle and ring makes it quicker to assemble and easier to clean which is a big plus for us. Avoiding plastic exposure is important to me so glass bottles are the only kind I'm willing to use. My only complaint (if you can even call it that) is that the bottle will leave marks on wooden tables if baby bangs it hard enough. More user error than product design flaw but thought I'd mention it for those with older babies. Happy to report this bottle checks all the boxes for us and is my daughter's new favorite. I highly recommend giving it a try for your little one. Thank you weeSpring Parent Panel for sending us the Philips Avent Natural Glass Baby Bottle to try! Breastfed baby approved
My little guy os breastfed, these are the only bottles he won't reject. He won't eat out of anything else, well except the breast that is.
Phillips Avent glass bottles are the best I have used with my baby. There are only three simple pieces to wash, the anti-colic vents work perfectly to ensure my baby's tummy stays air-free. Toxin-free so that I can feel safe about feeding my baby with it. I love the feeling of nostalgia for days gone by when using glass bottles. These can be used over again with your next kid, or two, or three-glass is very nice in its longevity. I have dropped these without breaking them from sitting height, just don't drop a full bottle from standing height on a hard surface-that is the only way one of these has broken for me.
My baby took right to the natural feeling nipple on these. My only wish is that the ring holding the nipple was more earth friendly than plastic, but overall, this is the best bottle I have found for my child. The shape is perfect to hold comfortably. I recieved these complimentary from the weeSpring Parent Panel. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I <3 these eco-friendly and user-friendly bottles
These might be the answer to making things work with a 3rd child on the way! Over the last 3 years, I have tried to only use glass or stainless bottles with both of my children since birth. It's very important to me that anything they use is eco-friendly, non-toxic, and BPA free. Since it is glass (the glass is made in the USA!), you don't have to worry about anything leaching when you warm them up. Having products that I can use through multiple children and then pass on when done is a big deal to me, i.e. a money saver, time saver, and landfill saver. It's also important that bottles are easy to clean and sterilize and I feel that you can really get these bottles clean. There are just 4 parts (if you use the cap) with no major nooks and crannies for milk/liquid to get stuck in and turn into mold. It's a relief to have a time saver such as an easy to clean and assemble bottle. Assembly is quick, but one must make sure to pull the nipple all the way through the collar. The wide mouth makes pouring breastmilk from bags into the bottle easy. Unfortunately my now 15 month old has been refusing all bottles and only wants to breastfeed. I tried the bottle myself and was surprised at how soft and pliable the silicone nipple is. Since I EBF both my children and plan to with my 3rd, it is important to have a bottle with a nipple that closely resembles the breast like these. We always use anti-colic bottles, so having this type of nipple (without the extra parts like on other bottles!) is going to be great when our next child is born. My son seemed to hold the bottle easily with it's contoured shape and it fits easily in my hand as well. Of course glass certainly doesn't bounce which is a drawback to all glass bottles, but it appears to be a quality made, durable product. If using with an older child, or an accident prone adult, I would look into getting covers for them. It would be even nicer if covers were included with the bottles at purchase. Also seeing that these bottles are compatible with the Philips Avent Natural range of breast pump, bottle and cup parts is exciting. I am planning to go get the cup parts to use with both my 15 month old and 3 year old. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing us with both the 4 and 8 ounce versions of these bottles.
I'm thankful for this bottle!
I'm so glad I received these bottles from the weeSpring Parent Panel! Before I started using this product, I had a few plastic bottles from Philips that I really liked, but my only downside was that they were plastic which meant I couldn't heat them up in the microwave. I loved the shape and the size, but I am also very cautious about what products are made of, and I am all about reducing plastic when I can! The fact that these still have the same hourglass-like shape and breast-like nipple made me so excited!
My son (4 months when I started using them) took these bottles right away. He is breastfed and he had no trouble getting used to the nipple, and no issues with nipple confusion! They heat really well in the microwave which saves me a ton of time when I'm on the go and need to bring a bottle to keep my baby content. I found that the glass also seems to keep the milk insulated longer than the plastic ones I've tried as well. The bottles are incredibly easy to use, clean, and assemble.
My only downside is that I am not a huge fan of the anti-colic vent. I think the idea is nice, and I will say my baby seemed less gassy, but it leaks. You really need to make sure that the vent is facing upwards or else you will likely notice milk is spilling onto your baby. It doesn't flood out but it does drip so you have to watch it or before you know it, baby will be wet. I will say that I prefer the 4 oz bottles over these ones just because I like the smaller size, however, this is definitely nice for when you're going to be out for a while and might need more than one feeding. The bottles are obviously heavier than plastic, but this didn't bother me at all since they're so durable and my baby could even hold them! They were put to the test when my cat batted one off of the counter and I thought for sure that was the last of that, but alas, not a scratch was made! I was very impressed by what a quality product this is.
Overall I really enjoy this product and am still using it today when we go out or while he's with a sitter and I'm away. I would definitely recommend this to any mom, especially those like me who are looking for alternative solutions to plastic bottles! Thank you again, weeSpring!
Good product overall but not ideal for tiny newborn with weak suck
We received this product through the weeSpring Parent Panel. These are great eco-friendly bottles and are easy to clean. However, the nipple for these bottles are not easy for my baby to use right now. She came a little early and her suck is a bit weak. We'll try these bottles again when she's a little bigger. I received this bottle to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. The quality of this glass bottle is top-notch! It made me want to switch to glass bottles, entirely. The whole thing is incredibly convenient to assemble/disassemble and wash. There are only 4 parts: bottle, cap, nipple, and rim. I loved how easy this part was. My baby is breastfed and we have tried many different bottles. Unfortunately, this was one she did not prefer. It was not close enough to natural for her liking. However, I would highly recommend this to anyone who has a less picky breastfed baby or to anyone using formula.
Nice bottles, but milk came out too fast for my baby
The Avent Bottles that I received from weeSPring Parent Panel were very nice, easy to clean and assemble, and use. However, the flow was way too fast for my baby. Also, I have always used plastic (BPA free) bottles so the glass bottles were much heavier than what I was used to. I think if I would have had a different type of nipple it would have been a better experience. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
