Customer reviews & ratings
This tv has awesome features and has worked great so far.
I bought this tv for my husband, and we've only had it for three days. This tv is really nice. The roku system works very well, although it does have some differences from the roku devices. There are two things that would make this tv better. The audio adjustments are very limited. You can't fine tune it, which is a problem if you have anyone who has hearing issues. It would also be nice if there was an option to Hardwire the internet with an ethernet cord. We have our tv right next to our router, and there is a bit of a lag on the tv guide because it's on wifi. Being hardwired would make it much more efficient, and really should be an option for places where people can't get a good wifi connection. Other than those two things, the tv has a great picture, it was easy to set up, and the size is perfect, not too large or too small. I should mention, I was a bit surprised by how light it it. In one respect, that's a good thing, because it allowed me to set it up by myself. But in another respect, you gotta wonder just how durable such a light tv is going to be. All in all, I would buy it again.
40" Philips roku tv 1080p
I bought this tv on 6/19/18 at walmart. I plugged it in and the tv came on. The setup instructions appeared on the screen. I followed the instructions. A roku code appeared. I have a roku account online so I entered the code and the tv was linked to my account and all the apps on my account automataclly installed on the tv. If you don't have a roku account, you will have to get one online first. You will have to provide your credit card or pay pal number to the account. They won't charge you anything unless you decide to get an app that charges you a monthly fee. There are plenty of free apps to choose from. You can also add a pass code to prevent anyone from down loading an app that charges a monthly fee or charges you to rent a movie. I have watched a blue ray movie for about 2 hours and the screen looks very good and the color looks very good. I played a ps4 game and it looks very good. I turned the tv off using the remote. A few hours later I turned the tv back on and it came on wright away. My old tv takes about 10 - 15 seconds to turn on. I watched a news station on a free app, it looks good and works fine. The philips tv has a power, volume, menu button on the back and it works fine. It has a small roku remote, so far it works well. It has 3 hdmi inputs, one audio video input, one usb, and one digital optical port for audio out to sound system. The tv speakers sound is decent. I have a 5.1 surround sound system that sounds a lot better. The tv also has a head phone jack, I haven't tried it yet. The tv was on sale $154.00. Reg price $298.00.
