Pennzoil Platinum full synthetic SAE 0W-20 motor oil is uniquely engineered from our revolutionary PurePlus™ gas-to-liquid technology, which is a patented process that converts pure natural gas into a high quality, full synthetic base oil. Our high-quality base oil is 99.5% pure, contains fewer impurities than base oils made from crude oil, and when combined with our advanced additive technology creates one of the best formulations in our Pennzoil portfolio. Pennzoil Platinum full synthetic SAE 0W-20 motor oil is licensed and meets the vehicle warranty requirements of GM’s dexos 1 ™ Gen 2 specifications that are set forth to meet today’s modern engine technologies. Extremely good Product
We live in Alaska and have always used Pennzoil Products in my 2000 Mercury Mountaineer. Then a few years ago I upgraded to the Full Synthetic Platinum, the car ran smoother, has more power and seems quieter. This car has 286589 miles on it and not a leak one anywhere around the engine and it still runs strong. Alaska has harsh weather conditions with approximately 5 months of Winter, and the car starts smoothly no matter how cold it is.. Highly recommend this product.

Thinner oil relative to old Pennzoil Platinum
I have used Pennzoil Platinum 10W-30 in my '02 5.7 Camaro for 10 years, great oil until I used the new version made from natural gas. Used very little oil and quiet engine with old Platinum. Upon changing to new natural gas derived Platinum 10W-30, knocking (piston slap?) occurs until engine is completely warmed up. After 2,000 miles with new Platinum, I changed to Quaker State Ultimate Durability Full Synthetic 10W-30. Absolutely quiet engine now, just like with old Pennzoil platinum. My conclusion, natural gas derived Platinum is a less viscous oil than the old Platinum even though the label says it is a 10W-30. In reality, guessing it is probably more like a 5W-20. Wear protection questionable in my opinion.

I replaced to old oil with this synthetic high mileage oil and it has been fenomenal. I have a 2002 Toyota Landcruiser with 233,679 miles and I found that the vehicle performs at a slightly lower temperature and provides some fuel economy. I also notest that since is a gas based oil and not petroleum based the oil indicator shows to be slightly lower, but once the vehicle is running it levels at the correct mark. Recommend this product 100%...

Made my Toyota Tacoma a Champ!

This Pennzoil Platinum Synthetic Motor Oil is by far the best oil I've ever used in my Fifty some years. The long lasting formulation, performance gains, fewer oil changes and thermal and engine protection helped to bullet proof my engine and have sold me on this motor oil.

Good quality all around

Good, quality oil. Product was sent out immediately and arrived in a couple of days.

Quieted my new motor down

I decided to try Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20 for my 2018 Tahoe's first oil change at 4000 miles.I usually dump the factory oil after 1000 miles, but, decided to wait longer this time. I was amazed at how quiet an already quiet motor got after the Pennzoil Platinum was put in and I started the vehicle. I could barely hear the motor, only exhaust. The motor seemed like it was suddenly broken in, with better acceleration. I was truly impressed. I just put Mobil 1 in my 2018 Acadia for it's first oil change and while it also quieted the motor in it, I will be putting Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30 in it the next oil change. My initial impression is that I like the Pennzoil better than Mobil 1 based on my usage so far.

1. You should be using 10w-30 with the Mercedes benz approval code. I know mobile1 European formula has that approval.
by Mike
2. Don't see why not. Full synthetic oils like 0-W20 grade actually helps older vehicles.

1. Yes, Pennzoil Platinum SAE 0W-20 meets the requirements for 2016 Toyota. 0W-20 improves fuel economy and start-up on cold weather. Always consult your vehicle owner's manual for the correct/alternative oil viscosity. -- Jeff
