penn spinning 6000 fishing reel

I purchased the Pursuit II 30.  I put PLine 15lb braid on it and paired it to a med/light 7' diawa steez rod.   I use it for bass and so far so good.  For the money it is a great reel.

Great reel for the money my suggestion is to swap out the felt drag washers for the HT-100 carbon drag washers when you purchase the reel. Other than that the reel is very smooth.

Great reel for the money

I've been using Penn Pursuits (3000/4000) for several years now on my charter boat. They switch hands daily. With all the bumps, drops and everyday use, they are still working properly. They're rinsed and often siliconed after each trip. The paint has stayed on them and they still turn smoothly. For flounder, bluefish, sea bass, small striper and even large rays, these Penn Pursuits (with 20# braid on MedFast rods) have not let anyone down. I think I own 10 reels now. For the price, you can't go wrong.

Perfect Reel For Price

Had this about 1 year now caught a bunch of dog fish and salmon one of my favorite reel, and extra smooth only reel that lasted and still going strong after continuous battles in the salt and rivers

Bought 2 8000 6 months ago as a cheap temporary starter reel for offshore fishing. Was going to upgrade later. But reels are built so well no need to upgrade. In fact just bought 4 more smaller models for inshore fishing.

I'm happy with my purchase! My first fish was a Tarpon.

Equipped this on my ugly stick catfish rod medium heavy 8ft and its the perfect match
I slapped on some 30 lb trilene big game and haul in 6+ 20 to 30 lb catfish every night
Drag is excellent and firm and the reel is built like a tank. I have full confidence in it i also have the penn senator for bull shark fishing and the penn 209 conventional which landed me a 6 ft bull shark in the hudson river in New York. I am a penn fan and highly recommend their products as they do not break the bank and perform wonderfull.

Great reel to haul in the big ones

I bought two of these recently and have another one on the way from Penn.  Great price and the setup worked flawlessly bringing this 5' blacktip in.  It was a blast.
