Quilts nicely

For the price plus having it delivered to the door this is a great buy. The batting quilts up nicely, not too thick nor thin. Does not crawl, nor bunch during quilting. Like having the bolt opposed to precuts, as less waste cutting to fit quilt size.

Batting in a bind.

This was great! I am a quilter and was in need of quilt batting. Most stores were closed, due to the Covid19 pandemic, where I could purchase batting for a quilt I was working on. I ordered my batting on a roll from Walmart. The batting is great! I have enough batting for several more quilts before I will need more. I will say, when I need more, I will definitely order another roll of Pellon batting from Walmart! Delivery was fast!

Great batting for the price

This seems to be the best value for batting that I could find on the internet. The cost of quilting supplies has escalated so much in the past few years, This batting averaged out to be only $3.69 per yard which is a great savings from the other brand I bought.

Great batting

I ordered this batting mainly on price as I sew for resale during craft show season. It arrived faster than I thought, which is good. I have made 2 blankets with it so far and it stays in place, sews well is easily handled. It is an 80/20 blend and has nice feel to it. I will use it again.

1. I have used it for that and it works great! I love cotton batting for baby quilts.
by quiltlady1930
2. Mat, Yes, it will work very well. The stabilizing scrim binder makes this possible. It also helps it hold up during washing, which will be important. Thank you for your question, and good luck with your baby quilts!

3. Yes, this batting is so nice, use it for everything

5. It is an average loft. I purchased this to go on each side of insulbright inside my potholders. If you are looking for thick loft I would go with warm and plush or double up on this batting. I purchased because of the great pricing.
by Seester
6. Yes, this would be a great item to use on a baby quilt, I tied one about 6 inches apart and there was no problems

8. Yes, this would be a good batting for a baby quilt. It is low loft and will not look like a comforter. It's light weight but warm.
by quiltmakerone
9. Yes it certainly can.

10. Yes it would be just fine for a baby quilt that is going to be tied together. The reason is because this batting has scrim in it so it will last as long as the quilt.

1. Hi JBeewax, At Pellon we recommend you stick with Wrap-N-Zap. It's recommended because it's fully 100% cotton, so it will work in the microwave best. Our cotton battings that we supply to Wal-Mart have what is called a "scrim", which is a very fine stabilizing binder (picture a cobweb that's been needled into the batting). It gives more stability which the machine quilters especially love, and the quilting can be further apart. However, scrim is a synthetic (olefin). Even though there is only a small amount, it's not considered safe for use in microwave. You can still use for potholders, but only if they don't go into the microwave. It's a good idea to make sure the fabrics you use are also all cotton (with no metallic), and even use cotton thread. They are able to stand up to use in the microwave. I hope this helps!

2. Yes you can since it is 100% cotton. I use it all the time.

3. I have not used this in potholders as yet but do plan on trying it. I see no reason why it couldn't go in the microwave but have yet to try that. Will comment when I do

1. It says "100 % natural cotton with scrim"...not sure what the scrim is attached with? You can look up Pellon's toll free number and call and ask them...that would be the best way.

2. not to my knowledge

3. I didn't notice any smell or feel any unusual stiffness. With chemicals you sometimes get a different feel and I didn't get that. when it was wet also there was no odor coming from it.
