I didn't believe it until two days ago. Stopped by Walmart and saw the pies. Decidedo I would finally test the waters, but was expecting to be just an average pie. Oh how WRONG was I. I have never had a sweet potato pie so good, crust too. The whole thing. I could have eaten it, the entire pie. But instead I have had one slice per day. Trying to enjoy every crumb... thank you Ms LaBelle!!!

The hype is definitely exaggerated
I went to Walmart this morning and picked up this patti labelle pie, and I must say the hype is definitely exaggerated, this pie was terrible. Cooked in the oven for 20 minutes as the instructions stated. The pie is too sweet, too much cinnamon, it has so much nutmeg that it leaves an after taste in your mouth, the pie is really soft to where when you cut a slice it falls apart. It's terrible I would not recommend it, save your money. BACK TO THE KITCHEN WITH THIS ONE PATTI. Two thumbs down.

THE BEST SWEET POTATOE PIE EVER!!! (from a store)

I too never normally write reviews, but I had to for this product. I bought this pie yesterday just wanting to see how it would taste. Now, normally its very hard to even find a sweet potato pie in stores, seeing as though most only stock pumpkin pie, which I despise. :( But this sweet potato pie is.....the ....greatest. Really taste fresh and natural, wouldn't think you bought from a store. I ate the whole thing in one night, couldn't help myself....will be buying another tonight and a few for the upcoming holiday get together. PS.....if you didn't know you can also freeze these pies and save them for later :)

Don't buy this pie for health benefits-- buy it for pleasure. indulge and then feel guilty and then have another piece to get past the guilt. add real whipped cream real vanilla ice cream whatever you want. check your A1C in a few weeks and weep....then buy another pie. i liked it!

12. The Walmart I purchased my pies from had a display of them in an isle across from the frozen food section and the produce section. Just look for a sign that has $3.48 on it. They should be under the sign on a display.

2. I don't believe so. I purchased this product in the month of September when there was no holiday. That said, you may want to purchase a few and put in freezer if you want for a special occasion.

3. The item is only sold in stores. If you need a great amount, the best option is to go to several stores a few weeks prior to event, buy as many as possible, then Freeze until the morning needed. If that is too much of a hassle, speak to a bakery supervisor about requesting a large amount of pies a month in advance.

1. Yep! That's what I'm planning to do. When you are ready to eat it, just thaw it to room temperature first, and then pop it in the oven per box directions if you want it warm. Walmart stores these in the freezer.
