We've only had these less than a month but so far we love them! One nice feature: You only have to enter your address book on one phone & it shows up on all of them. Another one is that you can break your address book into groups so you don't have to scroll through 50 phone numbers every time you want to call someone. Just choose the group, you set them up & name them yourself, (up to 9 different ones, we're only using 4) and scroll through just the numbers you've placed in that group. Or, if you'd rather, you still have the option of scrolling through the 50 numbers (in case you forgot what group the person is in that you're calling!) The reception is better than the last phones we had, and the voice quality is MUCH better when I call home from another location. The last phones we had were v-tech & they had to have the special batteries. These don't! They use regular rechargeable batteries that you can buy anywhere! Overall, based on our experience thus far, yes, I recommend them. (We bought them because Consumer Reports recommended them....)

Has CALL BLOCK and Distinctive RING built in!
I'm used to buying similar Uniden phones with the additional handsets but when our internet guy came out for internet issues he said that Uniden phones seem to mess with the internet sometimes. I'm not sure I actually believe that but when it came time to buy a new set I stayed away from Uniden. When I got this phone I was amazed to learn singer of the features it offered compared to previous similar products I've owned. For one it has a call block feature. You can block private numbers as well as specific numbers. It does ring once until it comes up on caller ID, then doesn't ring again. Secondly, it has a distinctive ring feature in that you can set up groups to the address book and set different ringers up to them. Like at our house we have 5 people and reach of us have a group with a different ring, so if you hear a ring that isn't associated with you then you don't have to be bothered at stopping what you are doing to deal with it. Like with the call block feature you have to wait for the 2nd ring for the caller ID to kick in to associate it with the proper ring. I especially suggest this phone if you plan to use Straight Talk home phone (which I just switched to and love as well) and still like to have call block
These phones are great!
I ordered this set of 3 handsets and they arrived well before the estimated date...thank you Walmart! I thought of first buying just the 2 handsets, but I read in one review that the extra handset is hard to find...so I went ahead and ordered the 3 - and I'm glad I did! After charging, the phones were very easy to program - and what is more suprising, I thought I had to program all 3 handsests! But when you program one, it goes for all 3! So I did not have to enter the time, contact lists, etc. again. The ringer volume is plenty loud and phones are placed one in the bedroom, one in the kitchen and another in the family room. I have not tried taking it outside, but the range is supposed to be pretty good there, too. The display is big so it's easy to see. The only thing I can't figure out is the time setting...I keep setting it to my current time which is Central Daylight Saving Time, but it always reverts back to the regular Central time which is one hour ahead of the time now. So I when I look at the time, it always makes me think, it is later than what it really is. Anyway, overall this is just a small problem, as the daylight saving time will end soon. I still love these phones! My old cordless is a Radio Shack phone that I had for 12 years and uses a battery that cost me $17.00 to replace each time.
How is this for a review...buy this phone!
In most reviews I have made I would have to say I have been very critical of the product reviewed, but in the case of the Panasonic KX-TG6513B I really have nothing negative to say and only good things to point out. It has good sound that is adjustable on the handset side while your talking. The printout on the phone is actually a readable size for us seniors and is really backlit well. The phone has good range and I am able to use it to talk without problems even when far away from the base station on our over one acre size lot. It is no more complicated to program features than any other phone and after a few minutes of learning most programs are easy to accomplish. The price for the quality seems better than any other cordless phone set I have ever purchased, and hopefully like all the Panasonic products I have ever purchased, they are the most reliable electronic products I own. The final point I would like to bring out is that every cordless phone I have ever had, eventually needed to have replacement batteries purchased. Well, often it is just about as cheap to buy a new phone set once you see the price of replacement batteries. Not so with the Panasonic it uses two rechargeable triple A batteries in each handset which have come way down in cost and are available about everywhere. I would not hesitate a moment to recommend this phone to any of my friends. And finally our local Walmart didn't have this phone set in stock so I ordered it with free shipping to the store and it arrived several days earlier than projected...good job Walmart.
Excellent if you don't need an answering machine
Love this phone system. The display has a large font which makes it so much easier to read than other brands. I actually bought this system for my mother in law before I realized it did not have an answering system. So, I decided to keep it as I have voice mail service though my telephone company. Yes, I got my mother in law a different Panasonic cordless phone system with built in voice mail and she's very happy in deed. Gotta keep the in laws happy.
