I bought 2 of these chairs for outdoor use by my fire pit thinking they would stand up to the elements in the Northeast (NJ). The color was nice (Mahogany) and I put the chairs together rather quickly. 35 min for the first one and 16 min for the second one. I would recommend using a cordless screw gun and a 7/16 cresent wrench to hold the lock nut in place. All the reviews I read said the chair was comfortable and didn't need cushions, but I think this is comletely wrong. The chair is very uncomfortable and I couldn't sit for longer than 15 min without my butt hurting. I'm 5'9" (175 lbs) and my wife is smaller than me and she was also uncomfortable. My 11 year old thought it was good though, so maybe the other customers were 11 year olds?? The good news is that Hayneedle will take them back and the total shipping costs using their rate is $35 for the two chairs. I took them completely apart in 8 min each and boxed them up. The return service so far, has been excellent. Bottom line: These chair are very uncomfortable and not good for long periods of sitting. (Oh, and if you thought of adding a cushion, they are not very deep or wide, so it feels awkward with a cushion).
