  • A. Depends on if your shooting in RAW, Jpeg, or both. Plus what size MP, sharpness, and how bright the image is. For a small jpeg, guesse it'll be about 300KB per photo. 16,000,000,000 / 300,000 = 53,333. or 16 GB / 5 MP picture = 3,200. or you might get 1,300 photos in RAW.

  • A. It depends on the camera's pixil count and your settings. I take pics in high quality jpg which takes about 8 meg per pic. For me that's 16 gig divided by 8 meg for an approx. pic count.

  • A. This card will hold somewhere between 5000 and 10000 pictures depending on how big the file is you have set in the camera prefs. I am using it with a Canon PNS that also shoots 1080P HD video and obviously, the more video you shoot the faster the card fills up .. but, if you are only shooting still frame, it will hold a ton. If your average file size is 1MB then it will hold over around 13-14000 with the card format issue, where you never have exactly the advertised card size once you put it in the device due to formatting loss. BTW, this card is fast. No glitches, drop outs or stops yet and I have tried everything with the camera, 3 shot bursts, HD video, still frame and it has excelled at all of them. I hope this helps. Also, I saved about $20+ by using the new "Site to Store Today" feature. Check the price online always, before you go to the store .. I found the website was over $20 less and if you pay online and select that feature then they pull it for you at your local store and have it ready in about 30 minutes at my store. I walk to the Site to Store section. Show them the email I got and my ID and I am good to go. Good Luck!

  • A. @MelCris77, everything depends on the resolution settings you have on your camera. The higher resolution, the less photos you can store because each individual photo eats up more memory on the chip. If you are an avid downloader of photos from your EasyShare onto your laptop or photo site, and you don't mind deleting photos off of the chip, I wouldn't worry about how many you can get onto one chip. Otherwise, adjust your camera to medium resolution and you should get several hundred photos as your capacity, easy. HTH.

  • A. I have not fill out my PNY SDHC 16GB Class 10 Memory Card yet, but I can tell you that I have around 600 pictures in the Fine Mode Picture Setting of JPEG format on my DSLR Nikon D7000 and only took around 5.8 GB of memory. This are pictures of 6.8MB to 7.0MB per picture. Hopefully this help you.

  • A. Depending on the resolution your camera is set to take the photo at, it can vary. My camera, which is a Nikon S9100 Point and Shoot, I have it set at the highest resolution, to take 12.1 Megapixel images at the lowest compression (1:4) for the highest quality, so each picture on my camera is taking up as much space as a single picture can. Now for the answer, how many images will it hold? On my camera, set on the above settings, when the card is completely empty, I can take 2,732 pictures. Yes, that many. Of course if your camera takes photos at a higher MP, let's say for example 14.1 Megapixels with the lowest compression you will probably get about 2000-2400 photos per card, but I really can't say for sure. And if you are shooting at a lower resolution, for example 8 Megapixel, on my camera, I can take 8,024 photos, and on 5 Megapixel mode, I can take over 10,000 photos. Can't give you an exact number of photos for 5 Megapixel mode because my camera only displays "Images Left" up to 9,999, even if theres room for 25,000 images it will only show 9,999. Anyways, I really hope this helps you out.

  • A. My camera is 14 megapixels. For the settings that I programed, it will store over 4,000 pictures. The memory will depend on your cameras megapixels and your settings. Please note: For Flash Media Devices, 1 megabyte = 1 million bytes; 1 gigabyte = 1 billion bytes. Actual usable capacity may vary. Some of the listed capacity is used for formatting and other functions, and thus is not available for data storage. ** 1X = 150KB/second *** Number of photos may vary by camera setting and camera manufacturer.

  • A. That will very by camera, Megapixel resolution and setting. I have Nikon D7000, 16.2MP set at superfine jpg. Each picture is about 8MP. The memory card is 16GB= 1024MB X 16=16384MB on each card. Divide this by 8 (for my camera, use whatever your camera single picture size is) and you get a capacity of 2048 pictures. Hope this helps.

can this pny class 10 16gb memory card be used to increase memory on my lap top? my pc windows 7 has a readyboost able to use most USB flash drive and memory cards, is this card able to be used on my pc to increase memory?

  • A. No. You have to buy RAM made specially for a Laptap (and not a desktop). THis is a Storage memory, not System memory that you are wanting. Totally different. Think of this as a disk drive.

  • A. From your question it is unclear what you mean by "memory". There's system memory, and then there's storage (memory). So it helps to know what you'd like to accomplish. So ... This card (or any other flash card SD/USB/ or otherwise) will not increase your system memory. System memory is what makes your computer run over all faster. That type of memory is called DRAM. However, this card can be used with ReadyBoost to make your computer boot faster and start programs faster. However once programs are running, this card won't provide any additional speed. Hope this helped.

  • A. I would guess that it would work, but not sure about the 'ready-boost'. You may want a faster card such as the SanDisk Extreme or Extreme III, to obtain the the fastest performance increase.

Excellent SDHC Card - Class 10 at a low Price!

I was looking for a SDHC Card Class 10 for my DSLR Nikon D7000 and GOPro HD to take videos in 1080p 24 fps. and 1080p 30 fps. respectively. So I purchased this PNY Professional 16 GB Class 10 Hi-Speed SDHC 20MB/s Flash Memory and at this point I am very satisfied with the results of this memory card. I use it for pictures as well and everything is perfect. I took pictures in high speed mode and my videos on both devices (DSLR, GoPro HD) and the SDHC Card Write and Read with no problem at all. I really recommended this SDHC Card; just purchase this at the Walmart Website Price and Pick-Up the same day at your local Walmart Store.

I purchased two of these for my new Nikon D7000. They didn't let me down. I have been able to get about 6 frames/sec still and should 1080p 24fps with this card. The Walmart online price was nearly half the price of the same one in the store. Shipped to Store was free and the way I decided to buy. Took about 7 days to get. Would reccomend for DSLR applications or any other where you need a fast write speed.

If you have an HD camcorder I would recommend nothing less than this card - it is perfect for the higher speed transfers of video information involved with HD recording - you will retain the full clarity and quality of your unedited video plus enjoy faster file transfer times into your computer too! Anything less than a class 10 card will slow down your times to get the information into your computer - for instance with a 1 min video shot in the max HD setting it will take under 10 seconds for the transfer while using a class 4 rating will take about 40 seconds for the same exact transfer of the file! It really does save time especially with a long recording. Walmart has a super price on this card in comparison to other retailers!!! You will SAVE MONEY!

I bought this card for use in a Canon T3i. It performs great and is a fast chip. I purchased it online for $20.00 less and simply picked it up at the local Walmart at my convience. This kind of deal I like!

Purchased this for a Canon Digital PNS camera that also shoots in 1080p HD video and so far no stutters, glitches, or drop outs. The card is faster than the camera and the camera is pretty fast. Not professional fast, but I am not a professional photographer. I have shot sports clips, still frame, moving shots with the 3 shot burst and the card has excelled at all of them. If I find something that it lags on. I will add to this review.

PNY has made a solid memory product with the 16GB Class 10. I have used it for my Nook Color in order to load the Android Honeycomb OS and it works great. Good speed, high capacity and solid build. Walmart, as always, helps keep this kind of performance within wallet's reach. No loss of data despite a few accidental removals without dismount...so the memory format is indeed stable. Thanks, PNY and thanks, Walmart!
