Everybody knows how a camel-hair brush works, so I'll "focus" :-) on the other end, the cleaning tip. As far as I can tell, it's some sort of soft rubber or chamois, coated with a micro-fine carbon "dust". It gets a fresh coating of black dust each time you put the cap on, thanks to some kind of reservoir in the cap. The freaky thing is this dry, sooty carbon-black stuff cleans lenses really well, and safely (so far!) I looked up the patent, and it seems the carbon absorbs grease and other contaminants, then just brushes away. It's very soft, so it's safe to use on coated lenses. I like it.
